Mine wasn't a surprise and I was much happier that way. Who cares what other people think honestly lol I'm happy I got to wear my perfect outfit

i have had two bridal showers (once from when i was engaged before ) and just recently.... both times - my mother wanted both to be a surprise. there was so much stress and drama after the first one that i asked for the second one to not be a surprise. well she refused but i knew almost every detail about it because almost everyone on FH family told me something about it (not maliciously - but they don't keep bridal showers a surprise - just their custom) so when i went to the shower i knew about it but pretended for my mom's sake. if i were to have a girl - i would have her help me in the planning and not let it be a surprise. or, you can tell them to just tell you the date and time and where and they can keep everything else a secret

I specifically told my mom NOT to make it surprise bc 1. I want to wear a specific outfit and 2. I have waaayyy too much going on this summer (baptism, concerts, birthdays etc..) so I NEED to know in advance. So, youre not crazy!

mine was not going to be a suprise--- but then my fam did not like how involved i was in the planning---- so then they made it a suprise--- but im a snoop so i know but i will act surpised i guess lol

Thanks ladies.... I feel so much better! I honestly feel so much better knowing exactly when it is and what I am going to wear. I feel like I can just relax and have a good time!!

there was too much drama surrounding what I would want in terms of time and location
and honestly I would prob figure it out anyway
do what you want! there is no rule that says it has to be a surprise!

mine is not a surprise. my family wanted it to be but i told them FH cant manage our lives and would def make plans for that day not realizing it since he wouldnt be able to mark it down anywhere. so they told me the date...June 11 And it is a good thing they did bc they hadnt worked on invites or anything so two weeks ago i designed them myself...they are all in the mail and the rsvps have begun

Neither of mine are surprises. FMIL is throwing the local one, and knows we have too different of tastes- so I am helping with details. She picked the place unfortunately.
The second one is for my family, so it requires me to travel- so not a surprise either.
So I have one June 25th, and the other is Aug 7th!

Mine is not a surprise...it was supposed to be! Apparently it was planned to be in May, then my mom got very critically ill...she was in the hosp for 6 weeks and is now in a rehab...I asked for my shower to be postponed as long as possible so that she would have a chance to be there. So now it's June 24th. I don't care that it is not a surprise! I don't think my mom will be able to go, though...
