Has anyone seen that Bloomberg is trying to get them to extend his term. He said that you should be able to do more than 2 terms. I dont think they would approve this and on top of that they are saying that bloomberg has an announcement to make this afternoon that will change things for NYC, i hope this isnt it

LOL yes I remember that - this is absurd. If Rudy Giuliani didn't do it in the wake of 9/11, there is NO WAY he should be doing this now.

i know it is ridiculous. I wonder what his reasons were for this well the reasons hes trying to convince them to do this. I am going to guess he is going to use the bad economy as a reason somehow.
THey just said on the news that they will take up this issue AFTER election time, so seems like this wont be the announcement today.

That is what is mind boggling to me... ur the one who wanted to inforce the rule and now you want to break the rule because it is to ur own advantage?! Give me a break!
Don't get me wrong I think he has done well with the city, but we need a new face, change things up a little. JMO

yea conveniently it wont make the election ballot- where they said apparently something like 80% of new york city residents would have voted no!

well the answer is basically that he wants to be mayor for longer. But people voted on this, as in regular citizens and twice they have said no to longer terms. So not sure if they would even do this, considering that they know ppl have voted twice on this issue and didnt want it.

I love what Bloomberg has done for the city and I do feel like he has sooo much experience to help us during this difficult time BUT rules are rules and if its TWO terms then it should be TWO terms no ifs and or buts. If they change this now, where does it end?? A president deciding he's going to stay president?? Its just a fine line and he shouldnt be able to cross it.

thats how I feel, if they let him do it then everybody else will be able to do it too. Of course doesnt even mean he would get re-elected. Plus i am not a big fan of his so i want a new mayor lol
