Is everyone fiancially ready for...

Just wondering if everyone is fiancially ready for marriage. Does everyone and their FH have a profession...anyone coming out of college..are you both living with parents and is this the first time you both will be on your own. Just curious.

Both FH and I are living with our parents until we get married. I am in grad school and he is working full time. We are both saving a lot of money by not having to pay rent. Even with that though we will prob have to just rent an apartment...houses are too expensive out here. Otherwise I think we are going to be financially ready.

Well both me and FH live with our parents so we are saving money on rent. We both have lived with our parents since birth so marriage will be a 1st for the two of us living on our own... We both graduated a few years ago and have professions. We're not making aLOT of $ but we're making enough to know we will be financially stable.. No matter what, you will make it work. If you want marriage and a new life, you'll manage to make it work. No more shopping sprees but you'll have a new husband

Both FH and I are settled in our careers. We own a house together which we just bought three months ago. I live in the house and FH still lives at home w/his parents until the wedding night.

I still live with my parents. FH lives with his mom but he pays most of the bills. We both make good money so I think we are financially ready for marriage. We've been doing good with saving for the wedding so far.

We rent a house together now and we are saving for wedding and plan to buy a house after the wedding.

I've lived on my own but moved home a few years ago. So FH and I are staying at our parents houses until right before or right after we get married. This will be the first time hes not living at home though.

FH and I both lived at home until a few months after we got engaged. We've been renting an apt together since May. We LOVE living together.
we both have careers but neither of us are sure its what well be doing forever. he has a masters and i have a bachelors so i might end up going back to school at some point. we also dont plan on living in NY forever since its so expensive. we may buy a small house in queens/LI but we thinki in the long run well end up in VA or NC or one of the mid or southern states. we just cant justify spending $500,000+ to live in a small/medium sized house here when we can live in a mansion sized house for the same money somewhere else.. but obviously we never know whats going to happen

We are, at least I hope we are. Thank god I have a great job and he just opened his own business in Nov. so I am that will take off in the next year or so.

We already live together

FH has owned his own business for a few years now. . . i got my masters last year and now i work for the gov't so i wouldnt mind being here for a long time!

we both live at home with our parents, and after the wedding will be our first time living together ( ok still with my parents but in our own apt. )

we're both living with our parents, are are both still in school. he's finishing his masters in december, and i'm finishing mine in may. hopefully by the time the wedding comes around we'll both have good jobs -- but i'm sure our parents will help us out a little until we're on our feet.

We live at my parents house and are both finishing up school while working full-time to make us stable.

FH and I both live with our parents and will continue to do so until after we're married. Like some of the other girls already said we're saving quite a bit by doing this which makes it easier to pay for the wedding as it is almost entirely on our shoulders.

We are both out of school and are working pretty decent full time jobs. We're by no means rich but I think we should be able to manage a rented apartment after we get married for a few years while we're saving for a house.

Yes, well at least I think so!

FH and I both have our careers (i go to grad school part time, FH already has his masters) at young ages (24 and 27).

We both still live at home, so we are able to save $$$. My grandma is paying for most of the wedding, so that helps too. We are hoping to buy a house before we get married.

Not really, but we know that already. I am graduating from college 4 months before we get married so I'm thinking once I get a job we will be in a much better position than we are now. (I work two part time jobs now, but they don't pay as well as much as I could be making)
