Is it bad to say I dont want a bach party?

Ok..so I have posted before asking about ideas for 'non-club' type bachelorette party ideas and some of you posted some really great things like spas and stuff like that. I originally mentioned to my bridemaids that we can just do a nice dinner and they laughed at me...lol The thing is..I am 31 and so over that partying thing...too old for that crap. Plus..I have 7 bms that live anywhere from Huntington to Tarrytown and its SOOO hard to get them together with kids...grad school, work and everything else that I am thinking that I want to tell them to X the whole bach thing all together! I am going to have a shower and thats really all I need anyway! Do you think thats a bad thing?

I dont think it is a bad thing but, the dinner idea is nice and tell them that is what you want if anything.

I totally understand...I was kinda thinking the same thing...I'm just not really into the whole club or stripper thing. My BM's think I'm crazy too!!! I think they should respect our wishes on this one!!!

Its your choice... if you dont want one then of course dont have one...

But if you really just dont want to inconvienence them all then your being silly...

But you shoudl do whatever you want to do.. you are the bride

I don't think it's a bad idea. Why do something that you aren't really into - that your BM's would have to spend money on?

My FSIL just got married and instead of BP's they did a joint day of celebrating. Most of the whole bridal party and family and some other friends all met at a park and had a picnic and we played softball. then we went to dinner (just bride groom and siblings & moh's) and hten everyone met us at the same place for drinks and pool. It was a nice way for his and her friends to mix.

I say go with your gut feeling.

if you don't want one you shouldn't have one. i am 30 also, and i think if we have a 'bach' type party we may have one together and rent a house in montauk or fire island or something and have everyone come out and have a bbq...

i think it's fine if you don't want one, but it sounds more like you just don't want the kind of bach party your girls have in mind. can you talked to your MOH one-on-one to ask for what you really want (spa, dinner, etc.) and let her handle it with the rest of the BP? it's prime bonding time JMO

I don't think it is a bad thing if you don't want a bachelorette party. I think you should do what you want... Maybe you can just make a nice girls day out of it (lunch, nails, massage, dinner, a few drinks and maybe even a sleep over at someones house...)
They should understand.

I agree with everyone, too. Your MOH should take your feelings into consideration. Ultimately, she's the one who's going to coordinate, so talk to her early and get her on your side. There's no reason you can't have a great time without going to a club. I'll be 31 when I get married, and I feel the same way - Can't party like I used to!

its not a bad thing at all...there shouldn't be RULES that you need to follow, ya know? Do what makes you happy and that's all that should matter for YOUR wedding

i dont think its bad if thats what you REALLY want and your not just trying to make it easier for everyone else.....what about going to see a broadway show? or doing one of those passion parties? or they could do a little lingerie party and get you ready for the honeymoon!!!

but if your really not into it than its totally ok....remember the bride is always right! hehehe HTH!

I don't think it's bad for you not to have a bach party, if that's what you want, not just to feel like you are not inconveniencing anyone else. I'm with you on the no strippers, no clubs deal - I just can't party like I used to! But there are lots of other things you can do that are fun. For my gf's bach party, we went on a Sex and the City tour and out to a fun dinner. And this included people coming in from CT and they didn't have a problem with that since you do things like that for the people you love

If you don't want one, don't have one. Heck, you'll save them a lot of money. I'm 33 and can't wait for mine!

I feel the same way.. I'm not really into the whole partying, clubs or stripper thing. I would love a relaxing weekend w/ my BM and of course some drinks but nothing crazy!

Do what makes you feel more comfortable. I think a nice dinner in the city would be good.

I think if you're not into it the dont do it. I alos think that the dinner or maybe a day of beauty is fun idea. Mani/Pedi's Facials & then dinner is good. Im 33 i understand im kind of overthe 4 am partying thing. But its whatever to me.

Not a bad idea. Do whatever you feel comfortable with. I don't want a Bach party either. The whole stripper thing is a joke. Recently I went to a Bridal show and there was a company located in the city that does pole dancing classes. I think that would be fun to gather a group of girls do something different. I'm sure my FH would like to see what I learn ;) Afterwards well go to a rest for dinner and drinks.

Good luck

i dont really want one anymore - the night my FH has his ill go out with the girls - but i dont want to do anything crazy anymore - i just found out that my moh/fsil is pregnant so she wont be partying with me and my other moh/my sister isnt of age - so she cant party either so only 1 out of my 3 bms can come out and drink - so i figure my bff., myself and whoever else can make it out will go out for some drinks and dancing while my FH is at his - i was going to do a big one and include our moms/aunts/cousins/friends but at this point im over it and dont want anyone to be bothered planning it - i dont think they are 'necessary' KWIM? i think my bff and i will have more fun by ourselves anyway - instead of including so many people - thats when the drama starts

Not bad at all, personally I dont care for them and i have no interest. I think they're both pretty stupid but that's just my opinion. I think you should just do what you want and what will make you happy.
