No way is it cheesy to wear them. I wore them on my wedding day. I was comfortable, my feet did not hurt and got compliments on them.
I ordered my from ebay.

If I wasnt so short (5'2) and my DH wasn't so tall (6'4) I would have done something comforatbale like that. But because of the height difference I had to wear HIGH heels and my feet were HURTIN!

I'm not sure how long your dress is but your feet will probably be seen at some point...especially if you're doing the garter toss. I'm not a fan of sneakers in general so I'm partial. Btw, there are some great looking and comfy low heels out there. Good luck!

Agree 100%
You can suffer in heels for a day. I know I am. No way am I wearing chinese slippers or platform sneakers. It just isnt me. Not knocking, just isnt my style.

I agree that its important to be comfortable for your reception, but I think there are other options other than sneakers that may look better if you do a garter toss. Mesh chinese slippers come in all colors including white, and are sequined and beaded. They are really comfy, and also cute.

Re: is it cheesy to wear bridal sneakers?
Well I was called Tacky (but we wont go there) for wearing My platform flip flops. Our ceremony was at 2:30 and our reception didn't end until midnight. There was NO way I was standing shoes all day. And they actually came off as soon as we walked out of the church and my flip flops went on! My best friend wore the same shoes as me and my other friend wore ugly water shoes because she is almost 6' and was uncomfortable wearing platforms but hey the matched the dress! and my cousin wore chinese slippers.
I get a little upset when people say its cheesy or tacky. It might not be your style but It is for other people don't call them cheesy or tacky JMO of course. And not everyone can suffer in heels all day. I wanted to enjoy my party and not be in pain
And another thing. No one sees your shoes until you do the garter tose (if you are) so you can always change them .

I don't think it is cheesy. I'm bring platform sandals just in case my shoes start to bother me (I'm breaking them in before hand, so hopefully they won't) I think you should do whatever is most comfortable for you

I wore plain old Adidas SuperStars (the classic ones white with black stripes) and EVERYONE loved it! I was SO comfy! I changed into them after our first dance....

I think you should wear whatever you are comfortable in, but.....people DO see your feet. So if part of your reasoning is that no one sees your feet, you might want to re-think it. I got compliments on my shoes even though I though no one would see them, and I did see my shoes in some of the photos.

Agreed, you should wear what you're comfy in. What I would say is this- I had every intention of changing into my 'bridal flipflops' at the reception, but realized my dress was already a little long while wearing heels - and so me changing wasn't really an option - I didn't want my dress really dragging and people stepping on it or spilling on it. Just something to keep in mind if you do decide changing. One of the brides said she wore platform heels - probably would work if your dress is long.

dude, do what YOU want. I'm seriously contemplating being barefoot, because with any heel my dress will be too short (I'm 5'11') and ya know what, I don't give a damn what anyone thinks about that.
They're just shoes!

Do whatever is more comfortable for YOU. I can relate, I HATE heels, I hurt my foot last fall from a running injury & I sware I get hints of the pain whenever I am not in sneakers. It's a long day & the last thing you need is to be in pain. I might just suffer in heels for the church - low heels & then wear the sneakers as soon as I get in the limo to do photos. Again, your day, who cares what people think. Nowadays it really doesn't matter.
