Sorry posting anonymously, so as not to ruffle any feathers.
Just wondering if anyone else feel the same way? On the boards there are definitely brides who post ALOT, and others, like myself, who get on here when they can. And some brides seem to be more popular than others. And it seems to me that the regular posters get quicker, more informative replies than others do. I've seen where a 'regular' bride and a 'rarely seen' bride will post the same or similar topic. And the 'regular' bride, who posts all the time will get lik 25 replies in a matter of minutes and the 'rarely seen' will get maybe 1 or 2 replies. Is this just a coincidence or are people more likely to reply to a bride who is on here all the time? Is there a secret to getting more replies?

I know what you are saying. I try to respond to everyone though.

I don't think that's the case at all...at least that's not what I do. I actually only look at the topic title when reading a post.
Don't take offense! But I know what you mean...sometimes there will be a post with tons of views and only 20 responses.

I know what you mean. Personally, I don't look at the poster - I look at the title topic. If it's something I have an opinion on or can help with, I reply, no matter who it is.

Nope, you're not imagining it. That definitely happens.

I guess I know what you are saying...Sometimes I post something and get only a few relies, but then someone else will post almost the same thing and get more replies...I think maybe it has to do with timing, and also the topic title.

Re: Is it me?
that's so sad... you didn't have to post this anonymously. it's been posted before.
sometimes it's true, sometimes it's not.
it's just the way it works.

One secret I have found has to do with the subject of your post ... the more descriptive it is, the more likely you are to get responses IMHO. For example:
'Need help with Ivory Flowers'
vs.
'Can anyone ....' (and putting the request inside the message)
Personally I tend to gloss over the non-descriptive post subjects .... especially if I only have a few minutes to be online.

Yes, you're right. Maybe more experienced posters just title their posts better. I know that I hardly ever respond to posts titled something like, 'Should I...?'
It's like, if you can't bother to put a title on your post, I can't be bothered reading it, Lazybones.
More experienced posters tend not to do that, and that might be a reason why they get more responses more quickly.

I also just look at the topic and see if I can offer advice or comment on the subject...I rarely look at who the poster is.

i think that it is also that people dont like to repeat themselves.....you should do a search on the topic before you post.....i try to do that. if i find something and its not helpful enough , then i post a new topic about it........

Re: Is it me?
i post on anybodies replies, new or old. Obviously you can tell i reply to alot of posts bc look at my # of posts if i only replied to certain ppl i wouldn't have these numbers. When i see nobody gets responses i make sure to answer even if i dont know the answer or dont really have info but maybe say sorry i dont know the answer and give a suggestion as to where they can get an answer.
I do notice this and i feel bad when i see it. But its not to be taken personally. I guess its just that when you talk to somebody constantly all the time on here, and know all theyve gone through so far with the planning and they've helped you in turn when you see they post you make sure to answer.

I think this is it! I have noticed a lot that less frequent posters are sometimes less specific in their titles....I don't generally look at who posted it before reading the thread, just the title

Re: Is it me?
Yeah I think I would have to agree... I never look at the poster, just the title. Especially since I don't come on ALL the time, if its something I'm particularly interested in I'll read it. And if its something I feel like I can help with, I'll respond. Otherwise I usually don't write... so don't feel bad!!
