Sorry posting anonymously, so as not to ruffle any feathers.

Just wondering if anyone else feel the same way?
On the boards there are definitely brides who post ALOT, and others, like myself, who get on here when they can. And some brides seem to be more popular than others.
And it seems to me that the regular posters get quicker, more informative replies than others do. I've seen where a 'regular' bride and a 'rarely seen' bride will post the same or similar topic. And the 'regular' bride, who posts all the time will get lik 25 replies in a matter of minutes and the 'rarely seen' will get maybe 1 or 2 replies.
Is this just a coincidence or are people more likely to reply to a bride who is on here all the time? Is there a secret to getting more replies?

this is def something that happens...but like others said be specific with your topic title...if im busy and can only post to a few people i look at the topics and click the ones usually with pics or a poll, or asks a question that i can answer quickly...also like others said many topics have been repeated over and over again so i tend to skip over that (unless im bored and then i will reply to everything and anything) and then there are those topics that i just dont know the answer too so i just cant answer those...but it is true people that are here longer usually get more replys...but its usually because they will ask something that hasnt been asked 1000 times already

I know what you mean. Personally, I don't look at the poster - I look at the title topic. If it's something I have an opinion on or can help with, I reply, no matter who it is.

i feel like i am a black sheep of half the stuff i post. I get 5 replies if that at times and i have been here for a LONG TIME. There are times i get pages of replies so in all honesty i think it has to do with the topic.

When i post pics i get mucho replies when i do a poll i get a handful and when i ask for prices i get none IoI

I thought about it more, and I think sometimes I respond to things that have more responses more than things that have less, or not really that I respond more to those, but I look at those first (b/c obviously they must be good haha) so if I only have a few minutes, I'll look at titles and how many responses.....when I have time, I tend to look at things with no or few responses to see if I can help....

It's happened to me, but I don't take it personally...I know i have a hard time keeping up b/c I can only be on for a few minutes at a time at work so i always feel out of the loop. I don't think anyone intentionally ignores someone who doesn't post often, I do think that sometimes some brides may see a familiar name and an interesting post title and just automatically go there and read it.

i try to respond to anything i feel i can help with or share pertinent info on. IMO it helps by far when the title of the post gives insight as to what someone is looking for in replies. there have been many times that i've read a post and can offer no help or info at all, so i do not respond. i can't think of one time i opened a post and did not respond b/c of the person who posted it.

I agree completely. So I don't even look at who is posting the thread. If it is something I am interested in then I reply. If a thread had a few pages of posts, I sometimes don't even bother. I try to post to people when not many people have responded.

Well I think I am an average Bride Don't really fall into the popular crowd LOL I feel like it's HIgh school.. I htink some people are more busy than others but I try to post whenever I am on here. I don't care who posted it.. but I try to help out whenver I can!

I noticed this myself...it's kind of hard NOT to assume that preferential treatment is going on when that happens...but hey, every rose has it's thorns..I just learned not to expect certain things and to roll with the punches...

im a psycho replier the last few weeks b/c i was on vacation and now im sick. but i try to reply to anything i can or have knowledge about, like etiquette.

i try to remember some of these women have been posting for a year or more so they have formed bonds and friendships.

give it time.. it is a very friendly and helpful site

I think that the more you reply to people, the more replies you GET. Denise usually replies to everyone, and so people might be more apt to reply to her b/c they feel like she took time to reply to them. Just an example, there are other girls like this also.

i also think it has to do with the time of day you post...i know some days its so busy that posts fly off page 1 so fast...other days there is noone on to reply....its hit or miss sometimes

I post to whatever I can answer to whenever I'm on. I have noticed this though but I think it's definitely the time of day more than anything. Also if the OP is replying to what other people say definitely helps out too.

Funny you say this because this has already happened on the 09 board... Someone got upset that not many people took the time out to answer her post.... I can tell you in all honesty... If I have no experience with the topic and dont even know who you are (aka not a reg poster) then chances are I wont reply... just my honest opinion... Im sure others act the same way... There are of course exceptions though of people who try to answer everyones post... Dont get upset about it... Hey if its on the same topic and they get more replies, then you have more info right there for yourself! At least SOMEONE is getting answers

I understand. I actually try & keep an eye out for people that haven't gotten any responses & at least try & say something back. I hate being greeted with silence as a response when I ask a question.

Also I notice I am a late night bird soo I will ask questions during times when there is not too many people around. Sometimes you have to try during 'peak' hours to snag more responses.

I actually only look at the topic title when reading a post.

same here...but i have felt that way too when i haven't gotten a response.

I think it's a few things... time of day absolutely matters. I post a lot during the work day- along with many other regular posters who are available/ on to chat. At night- I'm on less frequently so I post less (and boards seem to be slower at night/ weekends).

Also, I haven't been on here that long (since early last summer I think) and you do get to 'know' certain people- and where they are in their planning, challenges, exciting events, etc.

I try to respond to topics that catch my eye, regardless of who posts... Also, as some girls have said- the titles of the posts DO matter. I've posted with ?? that have gotten 3 or 4 posts- that's it... No offense taken- maybe no one has input or was interested in it...

Bottom line... I think if you need help, post... people on here are sooo willing to help & be there with whatever you need!!
