You are entitled to and deserve a shower, I bet these are the same people who feel the bride shouldn't wear white if living with their FH's either.

Some people just really hate to see people happy. Now what kind of thing is that to say. You just can't win. I have heard people say they lived together already so just give them money and people complain about that now some complain about registering. I guess people just figure if you live together before the wedding you should just be happy inviting hundreds of people to your wedding and shower and expect nothing. Jeez tough world we live in

I agree w/ everyone-don't listen to these old farts! I've been living w/ FH for almost 2 yrs and everyone has told me not to buy ourselves too nice things and to wait for the bridal shower. It's the one time in your life that people (most people) enjoy showering you w/ attention/gifts. Enjoy it!

Yeah, please don't listen to those rude people!! My MOH also lives with her boyfriend and like you almost everything she has are hand me downs from her mom and sister. I am not going to have ANY problem buying her new stuff when she gets engaged and registers.

Why are you even giving these mean biddies a second thought. They should stay home if they don't want to come to your shower.
Every bride deserves a shower. People who love you will be honored to attend and happy to buy you something for your home. Let the unhappy, mean ladies stay home.

Yes, they do need to catch up! I wouldn't worry about it. I am sure that all of those women are a product of a different generation. My mom HATES registries. She thinks it is rude to demand that people buy certain things for you. However, she has (thankfully) kept quite about it. She told me her opinion and then let me do whatever I wanted without a hassle. I would just accept that some people view registries and showers differently than we (the young brides) do and not let it bother me. Enjoy your shower and ignore the nay-sayers!

Oh please, tell them to scratch. How about the bride that walks down the aisle 6months pregnant. People are always going to talk. Accept their gift and smile in their face.

some people need to get with the program. I live with FH for 2 yrs and we NEED stuff and every bride deserves a shower. period!

I agree with the others - I lived with my then FH for over 2 years, and we still registered - we just didn't need the little things that others do.

Instead of putting on everyday china, etc., we put on the nicer things like fine china, food processor, microwave, and of course less expensive items as well!

EWWW on them I really don't know anyone who hasn't lived with their future spouse first. Enjoy your shower with a BIG FAT smile on your face
