yes, it's bad
lol i have to agree, i'm sorry JMO...
but they do have sheer toe hosiery which i guess makes it a little better but i would never do it myself... but it was a good idea to ask if you were unsure!!
edited, wanted to add that i'm not wearing hosiery on my wedding day at all... maybe that would give you an alternative idea? my cousin didn't either. HTH!

It's your wedding day.....what are the chances people are really going to see (or care) about what's on your feet?! Honestly if you feel more comfortable wearing pantyhose with your shoes wear them. It is YOUR wedding day, do what you want to do. Most people can't tell that you are wearing pantyhose with open toes shoes with a wedding dress on and if they can tell, they are looking awfully hard, don't you think?

Wow! I didn't realize it was that bad to wear them! I guess I am that out of style! I am totally going to look into the ones without the toes though! Thanks for this tip.
Can you tell me where I can get them for a cheap price, like no more then $5.00. That's what I pay now for my regular stockings. And can you but them at the drug store, or just department stores? Thanks for all your help on this ladies.
I paid about $8 for a pair at Macy's.
I think they were a common brand, like Hanes or Jockey. They're normally $10, but I had a coupon.

they sell toeless now!!my mom does this, fmil does this....it's rather embarrassing to be with them when they do...i think in general fashion has said we deal with sweaty feet and get pedicures to avoid it the usual issues.....i just don't like it....but that's JMO.

I personally LOATHE this. However, if you want to wear stockings w/open toe shoes - they ahve the toe-less (footless) ones...that's fine in my book.
I agree 100%

I wear toeless stockings with open toe shoes and I wear closed toe stockings with closed toe shoes. I never go without stockings while in a dress unless it is a sundress. I do not have a flat tummy and stockings give me a smooth line across my midsection. Minimizers have lines that show through (and IMO are nothing short of a modified girdle) whereas the stockings I choose do not show lines. Wear what makes you comfortable. I bet each one of us either wears something that SOMEWHERE is considered out of style or not fashionable.

Re: Is it really that tacky to wear...(With Poll!)
for my wedding, I was all set to go 'hoseless' with my open toed shoes, but my mother thought that it was tacky to NOT wear hoses with my wedding dress. I really didnt care, so to avoid WW 3 I caved and wore them. I figured no one would really see anyway. It really wasnt a biggie. Here's a pic of how it looked.grrr had to resize...waiting for image..it'll be up later!
ps...it was august 5th!! Thank God for AC

Honestly, closed toe or open toe shoes, I am not wearing stocking in August. It's going to be hot enough with the slip, dress... I cannot see myself wear nylon in the summer.

I wear them with open toe shoes and I just don't care what anyone thinks. If your biggest concern is what I've got on my feet then you've got some major issues IMO!

Leggs makes them as well and you can find them at Target. They are about $4 per pair.

Ok, no one will see your feet under your dress. No one knew I had on flip flops, so how will they know if you have stockings with open toed shoes? When it comes down to it, make sure you are comfortable that day because you will kick yourself if you're not.

My shoes are closed so I am wearing stockings. I feel more confident wearing stockings so when I went shoe shopping I didn't look for open toed shoes.

You might try Air Stocking - won't help blisters, but definitely helps pale legs. I used it a few times last summer and it had a really nice look - smooth like stockings but without having to wear them. I don't recall any problems with smudging. They sell it at Sephora and I also just saw it at Target.com. Sally Hansen makes a cheaper version, although I haven't tried that one.

Not only do I dislike the way it looks, but I would be nervous with open toe that with stockings, your foot might slide forward and make it more difficult to walk.
