I don't think it's tacky at all. Think a home is more comfortable and definitely less expensive.

Not at all! I think it makes it much more personal/intimate. I'm sure your mom and grandma cook way better than anywhere you'd go, especially if you were trying to find a less expensive place. If my mom or I could cook (at all) I'd do the same thing.

I think its perfectly fine- plus you can be as loud as you want, and take as much as you need!

NOT AT ALL!!! I'd actually prefer attending a party at a home.. It's more comfortable and personal. I say go for it! We haven't decided where ours will be, but my parent's house is one of our options.

Def not tacky. One of my friends did it at her grandma's house, and they made the food, and it was so nice!

I like going to showers and RDs at someone's house. You can stay as long as you want, it's more comfortable, and there's no rushing to get in and out.

No it is not tacky at all. I went to a RD BBQ once for a summer wedding for my cousin because they didn't feel like having it at a restaurant. They wanted it to be more casual.

Definitely not... my friends were going to have theirs at the parents house and I was actually disappointed when they switched it to a restaurant!
