well, basically I ran the show with planning the wedding. My DH planned the honeymoon all on his own!

This was my original response: 'oh hell no!'...
But that's because: a) DH is lazy b) DH relies on me to do all the 'important things' c) I am way too OCD and anal/controlling to have let DH do anything 'guys do' (HM, tuxes, DJ, music, RD, etc.)
I did it all...it drove me nuts, yes...but that's the only way I was able to ensure that it would actually get done.
Im with you!! Though there are certain things that I have asked FH about and he says no way...but other then those two words he hasnt even shook his head at me!

Re: Is/Has any FH/DH....
every vendor...with the exception to bride only things, i made the first contact, screen out and picked vendors...everything was selected together upon visiting the vendor. HM was all me...DW just requsted sunny and bright waters...
more guys should get involved. after all, the day is about both of you and depending on the setup, your both gonna be paying for it. mind as will get what you like..
i made our favors (dvd montages - which took countless hours).

We make every decision regarding the wedding together. As far as him taking the initiative and doing research on 'good' vendors I can keep dreaming! But he always says that the girls on LIW know alot and to find out fromyou guys first and then we go check them out gotta love him!

Mine won't! The only reason his parents even found out we were engaged was because his uncle found our LI wedding page. I told him it was job to tell his parents, but I wasn't holding off on the planning, Webpage included.

Re: Is/Has any FH/DH....
The upside/downside to a two-bride wedding:
Upside: We are doing everything together, both of us reseaching, gathering ideas, all appointments, discussions and decisions.
Downside: We have definite opinions on most things so we are working very hard to discuss our options in ways that don't start a fight and trying hard to compromise for an easier decision.

Re: Is/Has any FH/DH....
On his own???? :
Everytime I ask him to help me with something he asks if it is 'really necessary'. Not if it is necessary for him to help, but if we really need it for the wedding.
I feel like saying 'No, FH, we don't need limos, we'll just walk. We don't really need to send out invites either...maybe we'll just call everyone and see if they can make it.'

FH will probably pick out the tuxes on his own - that's about it.

What she said....
However, before I do anything, he does put his two cents in....which basically does nothing b/c he says 'I'm the bosss.'

Re: Is/Has any FH/DH....
The only thing he had NO say in was the flowers.
He is trying to resign to the fact that he just has to 'show up' thats what all of his friends tell him to do.

Re: Is/Has any FH/DH....
He is really excited about everything, and though we make all final decisions together, we do a lot of research on our own, that way we know that if there is anything that we don't like, it doesn't even make it up to the final decisioning......we have such similar tastes though that a lot of things we both come to the table with the same thing (like favors and invites - although invites we are both so particular on that we repedadly find nothing we like). For the tuxes I don't want to see him in it before the wedding, so I'll send my dad and brother with him for that (if I can't be there I'll at least send a spy!)

Re: Is/Has any FH/DH....
I'll clarify my point...of course we did everything together. He wasn't getting off that easy! But I did the research and found the vendors and he helped decide whether or not to go with that particular company. He did no research on his own. I made no decisions on my own. We went to EVERY appointment together. However, the question was 'is/has your FH/DH done any planning alone'...and the answer is still 'oh hell no'.

Re: Is/Has any FH/DH....
tuxes music flowers favors diy projects
He was more involved than I thought he would be ;)
I should probably clarify. Some of those things (flowers, tuxes, music) he wanted to do. We did them together, which was nice actually. The favors and the diy projects he helped me with a lot. Like assembling things and tying ribbons There's nothing he just did 'alone'.
