Island Hills Country Club????

Hi everyone. This is a first post for me. And a first time marriage for both of us!!! That`s why I am trying to plan a wedding that comes close to the wedding I always dreamed of--including lots and lots of friends and family (260 invited). Unfortunately that many people on a Saturday night, made most of the wonderful places I looked at out of our price range. Rather than cut the guest list,we booked Island Hills CC. The price is right and we know the food will be great (lovin` oven). It`s not magnificent, but it is lovely with a spacious ballroom and a deck overlooking the golf course for the cocktail hour. They are redoing the front of the building(as we speak) so the entrance will be much nicer by the time 9/21/02 rolls around. But I am curious if there is any experience with Island Hills out there. I feel good about my decision, but it helps to hear other opinions. Your comments will be greatly appreciated :) Thanks in advance.

Island Hills Country Club????

Congrats on your engagement and welcome to the board! I just got engaged a few months ago and began my search for a reception cite by asking friends and relatives for suggestions. The Island Hills Country Club came up several times. A lot of my family members have been to weddings there and they remembered the weddings as being wonderful. I was going to look into it myself becuase it had been so highly recommended to me. I ended up not making it there because I fell in love with the Hamlet Wind Watch in Happauge and didn`t bother to look at any other places. So I haven`t been there myself, but have heard fave reviews from guests who attended weddings there. I think you made an excellent selection. Becky
