Im picking places to look at based on price and not on what i love. It's no surprise, I am not excited to go to my appointments.

Pick a place you love to go see and try to make it work. Pick an off day (fri or sun) or an off time of year or do a day wedding. All those things can drop the price.

Telling us your budget would definitely be helpful. I'm sure everyone will have some good suggestions. Also, have you considered having a Sat or Sunday wedding or a Thurs night wedding at the place you love? Getting married in the offseason. That will certainly lower the costs.

really, i would love to pay no more then 135, thats with the 20% and gratuity. Like most girls I have expensive taste.
Im fine with a Friday night and want something different.

There are so many places that are nice within that price range, off the top of my head I know Chateau La Mer and Jericho Terrace are in that range and I think they're very nice.

I can think of a number of places at or below that price that are very nice. The Swan Club, Westbury Manor, Sans Souci, Douglaston Manor, Fox Hollow, The Watermill just to name a few.

I did a Sat night at CLM in May for less than that price. There are tons of places in that budget even more since you are open to a Fri night.

$135 is a decent price, gives you some leg room, especially if you're open to a Friday. Can you have a mansion, Oheka Castle wedding on that? Probably not, but you can definitely have a fantastic wedding at a place you love, espcially if you're open to being flexible to timing.
I agree with the girls who said go to where you want to be an negotiate with them. The worst they'll say is they can't do it but at least you 'll know then you tried.. and if a place isn't reasonably flexible, do you want to be there anyway?
Good luck. I found it to be a very difficult decision, but don't let the $$ take away the excitement. It's a lot of fun to visit all these places!

That is a really good budget price...I'm paying less than that for a Saturday night @ Westbury Manor

I changed my time of year to get married because I fell in love with the place!
Find a place that you love and you can make it work. A lot of places will work with you and Negotiate with them!

Old Field Club is $141pp (thats including tax/gratuity) for a Friday or Sunday (day or night).
I definitely find it to be a 'different' venu than many other RHs on the island.

Old Field is gorgeous and different and they include almost everything you need and give you the price with tax and gratuity.

make sure you LOVE your RH. I made the mistake of booking a place that I wasn't crazy about and am in the process of canceling and booking my first choice.
as the other ladies said negotiate with the RH you love!

there are A LOT of RHs in your price range!!!! you wont have a problem! keep you head up and your smile on!
thats a great price range to work with, and you can def even get a summer night if you wanted
i know westbury manor, woodbury country club, vandebuilt mansion (thats very different!!! and beautiful!!!!) tons of places
good luck with your search, just make sure you are in with it, everything else will work itself out

you can go to a LOT of places for that budget!! My budget was 100pp and I was SO nervous...then when I went to all my appts I realized this was VERY realistic!! I promise you will find something and you will be shocked to learn that your budget is very very doable ESPECIALLY if you decide to go off-peak!
