Jericho Terrace, and multiple parties at once....?!?!

I have my wedding at JT in a couple months and I just found out that on our wedding night, there are two other events happening at the same time.

I'm so freaked out by this. In the beginning I loved the food choices and the decor so I tried not to let this bother me too much, but I can't shake the feeling something is going to get messed up. My ceremony is in the skylight room and I would be so upset if I could hear speeches or DJs from the other parties.

JT brides and guests, how big an issue is this really? Did you notice any problems, hear other parties, was anything ruined?

Re: Jericho Terrace, and multiple parties at once....?!?!

I went to a wedding there last April. There were two other events going on and the only time you could hear the other events was when you went in the hallway or to the bathroom. I actually tried to peek into a different event to see their uplighting and a staff member stopped me and directed me back to my event, so they were very good about it.

Don't worry too much. ONce you're in your room you will forget all about everything except having fun.

Re: Jericho Terrace, and multiple parties at once....?!?!

When I went for a first tour there, there was a HUGE party happening in the Dome Room upstairs and we toured the Skylight Room and even with the doors open, I couldn't hear anything from the party upstairs.. it was dead silent. There may be a concern with the Penthouse room since that is right above the part of Skylight where there is no skylight, so I would just call and ask your BM what their start time is and if you should be concerned. I'm pretty sure they did a good job of soundproofing with all the recent renovations though.

Re: Jericho Terrace, and multiple parties at once....?!?!

I wouldn't worry about it! They are so professional there and really have everything down pact. Main reason why we booked with them.

I know someone who had their wedding there in November and she told me they had other events going on and they do a fantastic job of keeping the parties separated. She said that she didn't even know the other parties were there. When she was taking her pictures in the lobby there was no around, she said they wait on you hand and foot and make you feel like royalty. She said it was the best wedding she had ever been to, and she wasn't just saying that b/c it was her own.

I would definitely let your BM know you have some concerns about the other parties and I'm sure he will put your mind at ease.

It will be a great night no matter what!

Re: Jericho Terrace, and multiple parties at once....?!?!

This was my biggest concern about JT!! A coworker had told me that she was in a wedding there YEARS ago and during the ceremony you were able to hear the DJ from a sweet sixteen down hall... I brought this up to the manager there when we were making our final decision and he said that in the last few years or so they did a major renovation to make rooms sound proof :)

Re: Jericho Terrace, and multiple parties at once....?!?!

To be honest, that was something that just wasn't negotiable for me. One wedding at a time was my number one priority. And not to be a diva or anything, but I was really concerned about the quality of care and level of attention to detail. I have been to a lot of weddings at RH's that do multiple events and you'd never know there was another party, but more often than not, you notice. Whether it's long lines at the valet, or hearing the other party, or even if the kitchen just can't handle the volume. I wanted a place that I knew would care about my event, and my event only. Yes, you pay a premium for that, but it comes down to what's important. And that was important to me and one thing I wasn't willing to sacrifice on. And so far, FF has exceeded my expectations and I know that they truly care about my wedding and put up with every silly little request I have LOL

while i do think JT is great with keeping the events separate, I have to agree with the above... ALOT of friends had sweet 16s there, and I totally remember being that annoying drunk teenager that pissed off brides who had events going on lol- For the most part, the hallway and bathroom will be the worst of it, only because your guests will see other guests from the other events. However, I remember my cousin said that at her wedding, they all heard music BLASTING during their best man speech because there was a party going on next door

you won't be thinking about all of this on your day though honestly. it's such a small, insignificant aspect of the wedding and people won't be fixated on the other parties- they will be focused on you

Re: Jericho Terrace, and multiple parties at once....?!?!

I went to a wedding there almost four years ago and the ceremony was in the skylight room. I did not hear outside noise during the ceremony. However, there is a lot going on at once which your guests will notice (valet, bathroom, hallway traffic/noise, etc). It should not interfere with your wedding. Set appropriate expectations and you will not be disappointed.
