Re: Jewish Brides
Shelly,My DJ company (Bravo Sound - I'm sure they do multiple weddings in a day) said that if we gave him song titles and artists, they wouldn't have a problem with getting them for us. I don't know how extensive your interest in Israeli Music is, but if you have specific songs, I'm sure they (or any DJ) can get them!
My memories of Music in Israel are all European artists though, LOL. When I was there in '96, we were guaranteed to hear three songs at least 3 times a night - Backstreet Boys - Girl (I'm counting them as European because the US didn't care about them then), The Macarena, and Gompie, 'Who the F*** is Alice'. Good times, I tell you, Good times. Except the only one out of those three I'd want to hear at the wedding is the third, and it's just a little inappropriate.

Re: Jewish Brides
Just the horah for us. ANd actually during the horah we're gonna switch the music to italian music to get my fmily involved, and then try to get everyone (both families) to dance the tarantella.

Re: Jewish Brides
Actually, I want mostly Israeli music. My fiance is Israeli (although he wants more American music). and so are my parents. We really love Alabina, but want a DJ who knows this stuff better than I do. We were going to use the DJ from Chazal, but he and his family would prefer a Jewish person play at our temple wedding and not a muslim, even though he knows all the hebrew and middle eastern songs.Basically we are looking for a DJ who caterers to an Israeli/ sephardic crowd. We have some names, but wondered if anyone knew of any others.

Re: Jewish Brides
Has anyone heard of Rabbi Eric Friedman (or Shraga)? I am in contact with him regarding officiating our ceremony, but was wondering if anyone had ever used him. He was referred to me via one of the other vendors on the site, but was looking for firsthand experience. I am having an incredibly hard time finding a rabbi for my date.

Re: Jewish Brides
A mizinka is a dance for parents when the wedding is for their last child to get married. Typically, the parents sit in the middle of the dance floor and wear wreath headpieces of leaves and everyone dances around them and congratulates them for 'marrying of' their last child. It's really nice and the parents being honored seem to love it. My fiance's parents will have this honor- not mine yet!Welcome New Vendors
