Just Engaged

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to be engaged and to be a part of this expansive chat group. I'm so overwhelmed at this point, I don't even have any questions or complaints--yet. . . Our big day will probably happen around Fall of 2006--plenty of time for dreaming and planning. I'm excited to start hearing from my new forum-friends and to help you all out, too. Yay

Thank you everybody. Thank you so much. Here's how it happened:
He told me he wanted to go to dinner and he made reservations at Battery Gardens (Battery Park City, NYC). So after my externship, I met him down there. Apparantly, he brought a dozen beautiful roses to the restaurant before I got there and told the matre d to bring them to us after dinner, before dessert, b/c he was going to propose. So, the guy brought the roses over and I thought it was sooooo cheezy to be doing that for such a random dinner. And then he started, 'We've been going out for 3 1/2 years and. . .' I cut him off and said 'OMG, skip to the end, skip to the end.' So, he reached into his coat pocket, got down on one knee and then I don't know what happened b/c I started laughing and crying at the same time and had my hands over my face and eyes. I couldn't breath, I couldn't speak. It felt like 25 minutes I was sitting like that. Then finally, the people in the resturaunt screamed out, 'well, say yes already.' So I did! And he put the ring on my finger (wait, that may have happened before). And everyone applauded and snapped pictures (none of which I have b/c we never asked anyone for contact info) and screamed out congratulations and mazel tov. And then the waitress came and asked if we wanted to order dessert. . .
