Just engaged! Where to get married on Long Island?

Hi all, I am brand new to the site (and to planning!) and I need advice on where to get married on Long Island! The budget is small and we'll be inviting about 100 people. We are thinking of a summer wedding with an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. Any suggestions from anyone who was blown away by their venue?? Thanks a million!

I definitely recommend Fox Hollow, they gave us the most 'bang for our buck'

I just wanted to thank everyone again for all the great advice! I've narrowed it down to a few places that I REALLYYY want to check out and I can't wait to see all of the options. Oh, and I noticed a few Newlyweds in the crowd. CONGRATULATIONS, ALL!

We are getting married at the Vineyard Caterers in July '09...it has a beautiful outdoor garden space and a great deck for cocktail hour....congratulations and good luck!

Oooh, sounds IDEAL for the OFC...check out my review here and there website here !

I got married there and it was a very small wedding of about 50 ppl (they could accommodate 100 as well or even more) and we had the ceremony out back on their deck overlooking the water...perfect!

my friend got married here and it was beautiful. perfect for an intimate wedding.

The Thatched Cottage is the most inexpensive place around. We had our wedding booked there but unfortunately my Brother is getting deployed to Iraq so we had to change venues and postpone the wedding.
So here's the kicker- A great date is now up for grabs! July 4th 2008- it's an opening for a day wedding and it's comes with a discounted price!

P.S. The Thatched Cottage has a gorgeous Gazebo for holding your ceremony which is nestled right on the beautiful Northport Harbor. Imagine the warm July sun and swans swimming by in the harbor! As an added bonus- Northport is the cutest most picturesque town to drive through so your guests will enjoy the sights on their way to your wedding. Breathtaking gardens during the summer and the main ballroom has a full wall of windows so you can enjoy the view even from the inside. Haggle with them for $65 pp if you are interested in July 4th- it's a Friday!
