Just engaged! Where to get married on Long Island?
Original post by bonnieanneryan
Hi all, I am brand new to the site (and to planning!) and I need advice on where to get married on Long Island! The budget is small and we'll be inviting about 100 people. We are thinking of a summer wedding with an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. Any suggestions from anyone who was blown away by their venue?? Thanks a million!

If you want a fantastic view of the Manhattan slyline check out Waters Edge in Long Island city. It's amazing and very classy. Congrats!

hey there best thing to do - pick up Locations Sites & services magazine...it'll tell u every reception venue in new york, what they offer, what they accomadate, approx. price range & lots of photos. it helped me narrow down my search a lot! from what u're saying, i'd reccomend the Old Field Club, The winter garden pavillion at Fox Hollow, Lands End, and the Country Garden Estate at East Wind(the smaller of the 3..it's SO beautiful!)..there's more too - but those are just a few i know of that are really nice! anyways, good luck!
I agree this book is a must and CONGRATULATIONS!!

I was married at the Swan Club in Oct. However one of the places that we looked at which seems awsome for a wedding of 100 is San Souci in Sea Cliff. It was our 2nd choice, but a little small for our guest list.
PS I believe San Souci is a one event type of place.....so I think your party has the place to themselves during your affair!
Good luck

I'm getting married at the Thatched Cottage...definitely highly recommended. :) They have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony space right on the water, and every room inside has a gorgeous view of the water.
