Just got engaged...let the planning begin!

Hey Everyone! I just got engaged last week...I'm so happy!

I've already been on the phone with a few halls as I'd like to have my wedding this year (Aug, Sept, or Nov - 75 people), so I haven't got a whole lot of time.

I need your help...I'm lousy at playing hardball over prices. I have three appointments this week with catering halls...any tips on how I can get them to lower their prices???

COngrats!!! I think you might have a hard time getting yoru price down - (we did at least) - we foudn it easier to have them add on options without increasing the price - so if they quote you for example $100 per person you say well can you throw in this also...

I'm on a tight budget. I really don't want to go higher than $70pp...I know, I'm talking crazy. I'll try to do the best I can.

Yay!!!!

You can usually get lower prices by having an afternoon wedding, or agreeing to a higher guarantee if you will be having a larger wedding.

For November, I believe

Thatched Cottage is in that range ($69-$89).

Harbor Club might be a bit more ($89-$110)

Chateau La Mer is $70 a person, and they have a smaller room upstairs that would have a lower minimum. It's beautiful, and they are wonderful to work with. Good luck and congrats!

Hi, congratulations! My girlfriend got married in only a few months, it's very doable. she got a lot of her stuff at Fabulous Favors. I know that when you deal with the catering hall make it clear to them that you're not getting help from anyone else and if you're getting married so quickly and the date is still free then you're kind of doing them a favor by filling it.
