Mami is paying for my dress. It is her contributin to the wedding. I am happy that she is excited about the whole thing.

I paid for my own gown, though my mom has offered to cover the alterations

I am just asking because I paid for my dress and also me and FI are paying for the enitre wedding, every penny.

I am feeling overwhelmed and honestly, frustrated and saddened that my parents haven't offered anything. I honestly would have thought they would have offered to pay for the dress.

ive actually heard of a bunch of parents whos kids paid for the wedding yet the parents paid for the dress...i could see how you might want to buy your own.. my mom didnt like the first dress i picked out, so i was going to buy it myself if she didnt pay for it

I have a weird situation..my parents make decent $$ but they contributed less than FH parents who make half of what they do...BUT thats becasue they are saving it in a special account for when they are deceased to pass on the my sister and I so there may be another reason why they did not contribute towards your weddings..its not always negative

We are paying for the entire recepin, except for the dress. (My mom paid for my dress.. she would have loved to pay for more, but as a single mother with an a$$ for an exhusband that is all she could afford. Thats fine with me )

I paid for mine. We are paying for the whole wedding ourselves so this is included in that. Mom like Julz was a single parent and doesn't have money to contribute and dad is an a$$ and has money but isn't helping. He doens't even know if he can make it. WHATEVER!
