My fiance would like this groomsmen to wear khakis and a blazer for the wedding and reception. We're having an afternoon wedding and evening reception. Are khakis too informal? What are some other options for guys to wear aside from tuxes?
Thanks!!

Word of warning- my girlfriend had her groomsmen wear sand colored suits with a sage green 'hawaiian style' shirt.
She told all the men about 4 months in advance where to get the suit (brand, store, etc.)
Well- you know how men are- they all waited 'till last minute to get the suits and she wound up having to call up every macy's in NYC/Tri-State area to find the suits!
So if you are going to do something like this make sure you get the guys to go early on.. plus.. most guys aren't used to buying new apparel (they usually rent) so make sure they are OK with a new suit or apparel purchase.

Re: khakis for Groomsmen?
I think the look from town and Country is very nice, but for a nightime wedding in October I think linen is a little too casual because you will be inside most of the time. I think linen is more appropriate for summer on the beach. Also, your groomsmen will dictate the look for the entire wedding. If other guests find out the bridal party is wearing khakis they may skip the suit too. Which is fine unless you pictured a more formal affair.
