Would you like tohave a reception with kids there, or adults only and y!
My opinion, I want to have kids there. All my cousins have kids and my sister has a 1yr old, and I would never think to not have them be a part of my day.

Re: Kids or No Kids At Reception
We are having only a few kids (neice, and first cousins). If I started to invite second cousins I would have like 30 kids. I would love to have had them, but we had to draw the line somewhere. However, if we end up having an engagement party (still deciding) we will invite all the kids to that.

We don't know too many people with kids but we have to invite some b/c FH has an 8 yr old daughter and 2 nieces (who will be 6 &7 at the wedding). Since they are invited, we are inviting FH's cousins kids too (1 is 8 and I think the other is 6 or 7). So altogether thats 5 kids- I don't mind that.
What I DO mind is that a relative of mine wants to bring her baby (he will be 10 months when we get married) to the wedding!!!!!

I wrote on my invitation Adult Reception...Personally I didnt feel like a night wedding was a place for children to be...but its a personal choice
ITA. IMO A wedding is an adult party and no place for kids . I'm having 2 kids and one of them is FH's nephew, My flower girl is my best friends daughter and shes getting picked up after the church. I want her to have a good time and dont wanna see kids running around in my video. 18 is my cut off age

Re: Kids or No Kids At Reception
We had kids. They are also family. We did have face painting and sand art for them. They loved it and it keep them busy for 2 hours. We also had a creature which everyone loved
We did no kids, and it was the best decision we made!! I didn't want kids running around the dance floor and screaming and such. We wanted an adult party and that is what we got. MIL brother and wife didn't stay for reception (just came to cocktail hour) because their child was a terror and we didn't want him throwing things and screaming there. Which is all he used to do.. now he is a little better, but still a crazy kid. Were we bummed that they didn't stay, yes, however they had a babysitter and decided that they were not staying after we already had included them in the head count and had seats for them. Being that they are highly UNrelible DH wasn't upset and kind of expected it.
We had no kids at all. The only 'kid' there was my 6 year old sister who was the flower girl.

No kids def at my wedding... Only the few in the bridal party. I went to a wedding with kids and all they did was run all over the place, screaming like crazy through the dance floor people could hardly dance with all that running they were doing.. No way!

Re: Kids or No Kids At Reception
We decided not have the kids at the reception except for My sister son who will be two and my soon to be sister in-laws kids who will be 4 and 10. I am going to have a babysitter in the bridal sweet so that boy my sister and his sister can have a great time and not have to worry about watching the kids.

I think if you want to have kids then it is best to have a daytime wedding.

Re: Kids or No Kids At Reception
I love kids, and originally we were going to have kids at the wedding. Now we are having no kids at the reception. We decided on having a small wedding around 70 people. So in the end it came down to should we have someone there have known us for all our lives, or should we have a kid we have only known for 3 yrs . That was an easy choice.

We're only having nieces/nephews, but it sounds like they're a big part of your life and you probably should. Would it be the same without them?

Re: Kids or No Kids At Reception
We will not be having kids at the reception except for the flowergirls. FH really feels strongly about this because on this side of the family he is one of the last to get married. He really wants his cousins to be able to have fun without worring. Also, honestly $100+ for a kids dinner?

Re: Kids or No Kids At Reception
We had no kids w/ the exception of our FG & RB & their siblings. Otherwise--NOPE. Did NOT want kids running around, crying, screaming, getting lost, breaking things, etc. Best decision we ever made!
