Kind of bittersweet.....

So last night FH and I were discussing our HM, and I think we've finally agreed that we're not going to be able to go to Australia He really doesn't want to fly economy for a 24 hour flight, and business class seats are almost $10K a piece I was pretty disappointed, because I kind of had my heart set on it, but I understand where he's coming from and I think we jumped the gun too early on where we wanted to go.

The problem is, most HM places would be lost on him because he hates the beach. So to go to Hawaii, or an island or something for our HM would be a waste. We could do that for any other trip, but I want our HM to be extra special.

Soooooooo we were contemplating other options. And I think we've made a new decision:

A cruise.......AROUND EUROPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really happy with this. We were looking at three different ones and will have to choose between the three. Here are the options:

Cruise 1 - Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Croatia

Cruise 2 - Italy, Greece, Turkey

Cruise 3 - England, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Denmark

I've already been to Italy and Greece, but that was like 10 years ago in HS, and I would go again in a heartbeat.

And the best part is, I think no matter which one we pick, it's going to be AWESOME!!!!!

aww thats great! you're going to have an awesome time, even if your honeymoon's in jersey.

we are contemplating a cruise around greek islands too!

I've heard amazing things about the european cruises, you really can't go wrong.

And I totally understand about the Australia part, FH & I originally wanted to go there, but we felt between the flight and then not being able to dedicate enough time there, we couldn't do it.

On a side note - FH is like yours, in that he really doesn't like the beach. He can't sit still for more like 2 minutes, he's always got to be doing something. We are going to Hawaii. There is sooooo much to do. So it was a good compromise for us. So if the cruise thing doesn't work out, I'm always here for some Hawaii advice.

i would go on cruise 2, then again im greek soi would choose greece ina heartbeat lol

Amazing!! I always wanted to do a European cruise. I love the first two options, but you're right...whichever one you guys do, it will be great!!!!!!

Ohh Laura I am sorry about Australia I know how excited you were....

You're right though it's bitter sweet there is the whole world out there to consider. I think the cruises sound like a great option. Plus on day's at sea you can get some sun since Mike doesn't like the beach and when you are in port you can venture out and explore. Sounds like the best of both worlds to me.

That sounds awesome. FH's sister went on her honeymoon to Europe for 17 days - greece, croatia, italy and some other places. They loved it. If you have already been to Italy and Greece, maybe you should go on Cruise # 3. But all 3 options look amazing.

my cousin and her DH did a similar cruise fro their HM. they went for 2 weeks, lending 1st in Barcelona and walking around there for a day and a half.
They loved it!!! came back so happy, relaxed and with so many experiences and things they saw.
This is def a great choice for a HM!

I vote for cruise #1!

Any of them sound like a really fun HM! And i do agree flying 24 hrs sitting in coach will be horrible!

That's what I want to do!! But FH wants to go to do caribbean...blah.

Cruise around Europe is definitely the way to go!!

that stinks about australia...BUT i think the cruise is a GREAT idea! You will see so much and i'm sure you'll have a blast no matter which one you choose!

aww i'm sorry!! about Australia, that's fh's dream place to go and we were thinking of going there but! we don't think we will be able to because we plan to buy a house and it is very expensive but after that we want to go once...the cruises thru europe sound really nice! ANYWHERE you go! you and FH will be happy because its your HM!!!

I think a cruise sounds great!! I know you had your heart set on Australia but I could see FH's point. I've never been to Europe but all those cruise choices sound amazing!!!! You guys are def gonna have a great time!
