I'm just wondering....has anyone had a bad experience at kleinfelds? I was so excited about my apt. today, and although i think i found my dress, overall it was just BAD. The lady that was helping me hardly spoke english, couldn't clip my dress correctly and kept asking for help, let everyone see me naked, and didn't really care! It was just weird and i've heard such great things about the place. I was so disappointed. This is prob the 5th place ive been too and all the others blow it away. Anyway.....i guess i just needed to vent!!
The best part is that i will prob end up getting my dress from them cuz the designer is exclusive for kleinfelds. Does anyone know if they work with the price at all? Thanx guys!!

sorry you had that experience. I had a great salesperson and was beyond happy with my experience there. I think it all depends on who helps you.

Try Priscilla of Boston. I worked with Felisa who was great but it seemed the whole staff was! Great experience so far!

Yes! Felisa was wonderful and we are getting the bridesmaid dresses from there. I didn't find 'the one' there though. :(

that's really annoying!!! i guess if you really love the dress you should give them one more shot. Remember you prob won't be dealing with this lady anymore if you go in to order ur gown and get measured. Hopefully the rest of the people there are a little more helpful.
Good Luck

make an appointment and ask For Judith Lerner. She was the nicest person. Never asked for my budget, made everybody feel welcomed, i went with 5 people lol. Then even the manager elise came over and she even said she has the perfect dress for me and thats the one i ended up with lol so i guess she was right. I had narrowed it down to the one she brought out to me and one i had loved from pics for months. THe one i loved from pics was more expensive than the one i went with and they convinced me to spend less bc they thought the more expensive dress did not flatter me bc of my body type and thought the other one was perfect on me. Judith even let me stay past the 90 minute appt, i said oh no 90 mins is almost up i gotta finish up and she told me not to worry about the time and to take my time deciding. She works for kleinfelds for like 25 years i think and really knows what she is doing. AND my dad asked her to work on the price, and they did. There was a trunk show going on that day but it was a reem acra trunk show and they still gave me the trunk show discount although i bought a KP dress, of course like an idiot I ended up adding more work to the dress in the end so made it even more expensive than the original price but in the end it was still about 15% off.

ok so i wrote her name down and i will def ask for her. thank you. i think that they gave me a 12 point something percent off. the manager was nice, but she came over and started talking to me towards the end, and all i could think about was getting out of there lol (thats how bad it was and i almost walked out screaming 'say NO to the dress')
i will def give it a second chance since i think i found 'the one.' thanx again for ur help :)

Re: Kleinfelds
I had a horrible experience there too, my woman hardly spoke english too. She didn't understand or care about my comments on the types of dresses that fit me, I know my body type. She actually brought out two dresses that I had already told her I tried on at another store and hated. My mom was really appalled at the way they treated us and actually wrote them a letter. It seems to depend on who you get though, because some girls love it. I think it also depends on if they are shooting. There was a sign up saying they were shooting when I was there and they rushed us right into a back room and I never saw the outside of the dressing room until I was quickly ushered out. I was talking to two girls in CT last night who said the same thing, they went when they were shooting and got ushered into a room and treated terribly, all the attention went to the cameras.
I would call back and tell them you found a dress you liked but would like a different consultant or your going elsewhere. Get a recommendation for a consultant name from a bride that had a good experience.

yeah it s*cks bc your experience will only depend on who helps you. I know with alot of places this can happen and not just bridal stores. Even restaurants, if you have a horrible waiter they can ruin it for you. I went somewhere that everyone raved to me about, and I had the worst waiter who took forever and i think forgot about us and then forgot to bring out my dish and brought out only dh's lol and when i asked about mine he asked what i was talking about lol. Same with other stores too. I was a bit apprehensive before I went to Kleinfelds bc of some things ive heard but was pleasantly surprised. Even my parents, MIL and the others who went with me kept raving about them, and was saying what a great experience it was and kept saying that my salesperson was just the nicest lady.
Like that salesperson Claudia on say yes to the dress, I even told DH that if I had her I would've probably had a bad experience and would've gotten annoyed with her and thank god I didnt get her. Although I dont think she was even working there yet when I went. I bought my dress in March of 07

Re: Kleinfelds
I had a really wonderful experience at Kleinfeld's. My saleslady was Reneé and she was class all the way! I'm certainly not modest LOL, and from going to so many different bridal shops, i was used to just getting undressed. I was gonna take my bra off, and she was like no, hold on a sec, and she put the corset on and then unhooked my bra for me. That was definitely the only place that seemed to care about any modesty! My dress is pretty original and I haven't seen it anywhere else, so, like you, i had to get it there. They will work with you on the price. Let them know what you are looking to spend and see what they can do!

Re: Kleinfelds
i had a great experience with kleinfeld's. They did work on the price with me by offering me a trunk show discount. also, when I suddenly changed my mind on the first dress i bought and decided I wanted another one by a different designer, they were more than accomodating and helpful. i guess like any place it's a hit or miss. but ask yourself, are you buying a dress or a shopping experience?

Re: Kleinfelds
dont worry, ur not alone. I had a terrible experience there as well. I thought i wouldnt find my dress anywhere else either, but i actually found one just like it and better for half the cost at bridal reflections. Good luck!!! but no the best percentage off they give is 20% and thats like rare i was told.

Re: Kleinfelds
My friend had a horrible experiece there too which kept me away. I hear bad reviews from almost ALL bridal places though. If you fell in the love with a dress there don't let it stop you from going back and getting your dress.
Where I got my dress, great experience. Went back when it came in to see it and try it on, different people there and they weren't as helpful and some were rude. It all depends on who you get I guess. Good Luck!
