Lasik Surgery - Has anyone done this?

Lasik Surgery - Has anyone done this?

My sister just got it done this past Friday and could not be happier.

After listening to her and seeing how happy she is, I made an appointment for a consultation.

If I am a good candidate, I am doing it.

IMO, this is wedding related, because I have been struggling with contacts so I don't have to wear my glasses on my wedding day, so I will be doing this before my wedding.

I did Lasik a couple of years ago and it was the best thing I could have ever done! Being able to wake up in the morning and see the clock without having to search for glasses is wonderful! I would definitley recommed it!
I used Stahl Eye Center. They were very good.

Exactly!!! I can't wait to do that!

That's where my sister just got it done. That is where I am going to go.

I would like to do it. I think in order to be a candidate your eyes can't change for like 2 years. My prescription usually changes slightly, atleast in one eye.

Good Luck! Let us know how it goes!

I had it done in 2002 -at TLC - with Dr. Donnefeld - he is great - he did mine and my two brother's - even fixed my night vision problems at the same time

a good caniate also matters onthe thickness of your cornea - i did not have one and had to opt for a slight variation of lasik.

Don't assume you are a good acandiate because your eye has stayed the same

I was legally blind without glasses until I did Lasik 2 years ago. It is amazing - I am so happy. I'd do it again in a second. To just wake up and see perfectly...it's like a dream.

My dad had it done and had a problem with his eyes being too dry after...he now has to take prescription eyedrops to stop the dryness...Let me know how it goes! Good luck! It would be great to actually see the alarm clock during the night.

oh, yes, now that someone mentions it - my eyes are very dry in the morning when I wake up. But I just put in a few over the counter eyedrops and I'm fine all day. It's a small price to pay for the benefits you get. Also - some people (not everyone) have trouble driving at night after the surgery. I had tons of trouble driving at night before the surgery, so I think my troubles now are just due to my eyes (or my car!) and not the surgery.

I want it so desperately. do you mind me asking how much you ladies paid??

But if you go to a more reputtable doctor pay more - they can keep the 'halo' effect from happening which causes the problems with night vision - They did something with my eyes because they did not react quick enough to changes when they did the surgery

Re: Lasik Surgery - Has anyone done this?

my FH had Lasik done this past May and is absolutely thrilled at the outcome!! The very next day his vision was perfect. He can now see far better than 20/20 even, and aside from the occasional dry eyes in the AM (fixed immediately by using drops), has had no other side effects

He highly recomends it to everyone who is a candidate (which, unfortunately, I was not ... I am so nearsighted that they could not guarantee 20/20 vision even after Lasik, so I elected not to go forward with the surgery)

my FI had it done 2 years ago. he had 20/200 and now he is 20/20.....no more contacts! do it! his insurance coverd 100% though so check into that cause i think its 5000 an eye

I would love to get it done, but I'm afraid of the problems that could occur, like the night drving problems...I'm still debating
