Re: law students!
Hope you dont mind if I sneak onto your board. I'm getting married two months after the bar and I really need to change my mindset before I start studying for the bar. Right now, I can care less about the school and all I think about is this wedding!

Yaaay law students!! I have working for 2 years now but I definitely remember those days! Since you are 3L's I would say - don't go crazy over finals and burn out because you have a long summer ahead of you...it is almost over!!! Hang in there!!
I second that! I have been working for 6 years now! Don't burn yourself out on finals, the bar is more important!

This is exactly the reason we decided to push the wedding till several months after the bar (that and finances). I know that I can ignore the wedding planning till after the bar. If you can just do whatever you can before you need to start studying in May and then pick up full force the first week in August.

Eek I don't know what I would do!
But I know what you mean; this semester has been all wedding prep; I really need to get into high gear for the bar exam!

Re: law students!
I was told that when you are studying for the bar you should take one day off a week and not do any studying. I'm going to devote that one day to wedding stuff and pray it will be enough.

Yeah I'm not sure about taking a break 1 day a week. I may do like 1 or 2 days a month for the 8 weeks of studying for the bar. I am starting bar review on May 15th, graduation on May 28th and I can't wait for it to be all over with.

Oh wow! I give you guys so much credit! I graduated from law school last year - practicing since August & completely sympathize with you - wedding stuff PLUS finals and the bar! I always think that my FH should get a honorary law degree for putting up with me throughout finals and the bar! Good luck with finals!! All the best!

Re: law students!
Thats what I have been told. My FH took the bar last year and passed and every one told him to take a day a week for himself and he did. I plan on doing it, up until the last month.

I have no idea where I'm taking it. I registered but they haven't given me a location yet. I know sometimes there are a few locations in NYC.

I am a 2L, and my wedding will be 2 months after the bar. When do things start to get really crazy as a 3L so I can plan ahead?

I think everyone who lives in the first or 2nd district takes it in Jacob Javits center...

Re: law students!
Don't know if you ladies want the advice of someone else that's been there done that, but here's a repeat of the best advice I received while studying -- Since the pass rate for the bar averages at about 65% in New York, whenever you freak out, just remember you only need to do better than about 35% of the people.
OH, and if you can accept early on that there is no possible way that you will get everything right, and give yourself permission to forget some things, it will take a lot of the stress off you!

jacob javits is the only site in Manhattan but i know some people drive up to albany for it because then they can drive over the boarder easily to massachusetts.
