If you went into a pharmacy and the technician said 'OK, your prescription will be about 15 minutes or so', what would your reaction be?

That I would get it within 15 minutes or so?
So it wouldn't be 'WHY?!?!?!?! YOU HAVE NO ONE ELSE HERE??!?!?!' And then come yell at the technician when she makes a phone call to another patient while she 's typing your presciption, right? Cause that's NOT WHAT NORMAL PEOPLE DO!!!!!!!
WOW! You must have gone to my pharmacy! No one is patient there ever! When the techinican says '15 minutes' usually the customer says why!!!!! And I am usually behind that customer rolling my eyes!!! Some people are so rude!!!! They should take that 15 minutes to take a dang walk!

My MOH is a pharmacist and they have a lot of auto refills to do - so even if you dont see people there they are always working. I feel bad for her - its such a demanding job.

i'd probably wait for about 10 minutes just fine.
then after 10 minutes i'd start to stand near the counter so that the pharmacist didn't forget about me
after 15 minutes, then i'm going to start getting annoyed.
that's just me though - i'm pretty impatient.
people are crazy though - i'm sorry your experiences there have been stinky!
But Lisa,
THis is before she had to wait AT ALL.
Then she came back to yell at me because she heard me on the phone with another patient.
Honestly, I probably would have had it done in about 7 minutes, but you can't TELL people that because if GOD FORBID the phone rings or you have to make an adjustment or a phone call while you're filling the Rx and it goes to 8 or 9 minutes they *****.
I just can't win.
People, treat your pharmacy staff nicely. It'll pay off.
I walk around the store and buy what I need. It's no big deal! It's expected!
Some lady was screaming and yelling the last time I filled my prescription....at the entire staff....and was screaming at her husband on the phone....it was so embarrassing and i felt terrible for the guy who got the brunt of it--I know him, he's a nice guy.
People are redic!

Re: Let me ask you all a question...
When patients get mad at me for their glasses taking an hour to cut, I tell them that's how long the process takes. In actuality, their glasses can be done in 10 minutes, but when you blame the wait time on the 'process' and make it seem like there is nothing you can do about it, they tend to take it a little better.
As for the 15 minute wait time..I'd be pumped. There's always something I need from CVS, I can kill that time very constructively

My reaction would be '15 min of makeup shopping!!! hooray!!'
Same here! 15 minutes is really not long!!! I have a couple friends who are pharmacists and it's way more involved than just... 'Ok... Here is your prescription'!

Re: Let me ask you all a question...
It depends if I was dropping it off just them or if it was dropped off/called in the day before or whatever. Or if I am visibly sick.
If I am just bringing in the rx at the time I want the medicine, then 15 minutes is fine. If it was done beforehand then I might be a little annoyed.
Edit to say that I might be annoyed but I wouldn't make a huge stink about it. I'd just wander around the makeup or skincare aisles.
And then there was one time when I came down with an awful migraine but had run out of migraine medicine, and went to the store to refill it (I live across the street from my drugstore), and there was no one there and the pharmacists were just chatting away instead of getting my medicine. And you could tell I was sick. At one point I actually put my arms on the counter and my head on top them.

Re: Let me ask you all a question...
I would think usually it will take about 15 minutes maybe less. I was a pharmacy tech at CVS for 3 years. There may be no one in the store but there are prescriptions to be filled in front of yours that doctors call in or patients that drop it off earlier in the day an said they will pick it up later. I used to think the same thing as u before I worked there. Hope that helps to calm you down a little!
