Lets Vote Early on the President. Winner: Obama??

oh & one more thing. the socialist claim. It is a label to scare & I think unjustly used.

What socialism stands against is civil liberties, loss of political & economic freedoms. & I am listening to every candidate & he isn't looking to abolish our government as some would like us to believe.

& just to clarify Socialism is:

1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2 a: a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b: a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
3: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

Hence why I find it distasteful to label one as such if they are not.

I find it distasteful that some people can't see through the liberal media BS. He has Marxist beliefs and mentors. He's a SOCIALIST. No doubt about it.


'Obama's socialist backing goes back at least to 1996, when he received the endorsement of the Chicago branch of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) for an Illinois state senate seat. Later, the Chicago DSA newsletter reported that Obama, as a state senator, showed up to eulogize Saul Mendelson, one of the 'champions' of 'Chicago's democratic left' and a long-time socialist activist. Obama's stint as a 'community organizer' in Chicago has gotten some attention, but his relationship with the DSA socialists, who groomed and backed him, has been generally ignored.

Blogger Steve Bartin, who has been following Obama's career and involvement with the Chicago socialists, has uncovered a fascinating video showing Obama campaigning for openly socialist Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont. Interestingly, Sanders, who won his seat in 2006, called Obama 'one of the great leaders of the United States Senate,' even though Obama had only been in the body for about two years. In 2007, the National Journal said that Obama had established himself as 'the most liberal Senator.' More liberal than Sanders? That is quite a feat. Does this make Obama a socialist, too? '

Well I only stated facts, so the fact that some people take offense to them and label it 'drama' is the sad part.

I am not up in arms, I am having a discussion on a Sunday night, that I find interesting. (& I should instead be getting back to work..

If someone does not agree with what you pose as a fact, does not mean drama either.

I enjoy conversations that do not end with .. 'if you are not with me you are against mentality. Which is what I hate that the election may turn into' on either side

There should not be enemies just differing viewpoints. (I have friends that debate on all sides of the political spectrum and we all coexist lovingly. Unless you view me as an enemy,, then no I am not your friend. haha.

I disagree, & No I do not get my information solely from the media. You shouldn't assume those that support a candidate are uninformed.

Which brings me back to my point exactly. Why attack another's intellect if they do not agree with you. Why can't you instead extol the virtues of the candidate you support extend of trying to say the other candidates evil.

What place does someone have to tell another what type of candidate they support. They know themselves. Do not say if you are not supporting my person .. you are brainwashed. If anything that sounds like a removal of civil liberties. They if you are not choosing my choice.. you are wrong thing

Exactly. There are negative articles for each candidate. Theres no need for someone to try and force their scare tactics on me and sway me to change my vote.

We will see who gets the last laugh. I know I laughed when Bush was re-elected at how truly stupid this country is.

I must have missed it amongst all of your other posts which try to make Obama supporters seem stupid. You love what yor candidate represents and I love what mine represents. You vote for yours, Ill vote for mine. Maybe we can agree on that. Just because you work amidst it still doesnt mean Ill take your word for it. Call me ignorant, or a socialist, whatever it may be.

since this is my thread i just want to say a few things.

1st this thread wasnt made to be a 'barometer' i was just trying to see where the ladies of LIW stand.

in my OP i asked for a drama free thread and i am very appreciative to the ladies that did just that by either voting and not commenting or commenting with just their candidates name. i also mentioned in my OP that if you wanted to, state the reasons why you were voting for that candidate. that wasnt a call for people to bash the other candidate and make ridiculous remarks. you dont have to insult someones intelligence because they are not voting for your candidate. its really sad that some people cant just agree to disagree.

Using a NY based website as the actual barometer of who is going to win the Presidency is actually the funniest part of all. NY is CLEARLY a Democratic State. Wait until the rest of the country has a say. Then we'll see who's laughing.

Yes, it's a democratic state, but that doesn't mean that here, the results would be the same as what the STATE would do. She's not using it as an 'actual barometer' of who is going to win, it's just a fun poll.

Obviously this isn't going to decide the actual presidency.... lol. But since this is a blue state, you can almost certainly assume that the vote would lean left. To me, the fact that McCain has almost half the votes here proves that Obama doesn't have a shot in hell. JMHO

Well you know that is my ultimate goal. Just to make it fair, that moose was a socialist, so he deserved what he got.
