Lets Vote Early on the President. Winner: Obama??

Original post by jennandrolo

Im curious to see who would be elected for President based on LIW votes as of right now.

I wanna keep it drama/debate-free so if you want you can just vote in the poll anonymously or vote in the poll and then comment with your choice. Itd be cool too if you did a short explanation on why your voting for that person so we can inform our fellow voters (without putting down the other candidate!).

I personally am voting for Obama.

Update 8/31: Since this post was on page 5, looks like we're done voting lol. Seems like Obama has won so far with 5 votes.

OBAMA! Especially now Mccain dies which is not far off we are stuck with a super right wing woman who is under 2 investigations for ethics (she left her down syndrome baby and went back to work after 2 days!) and wants to overturn roe vs. wade. Why any woman would want that in the white house is beyond me.

I support Obama as well, but I hate how Palin the mother of five is being played out in the media. A man fathering is never a subject of media scrutiny and it shows a lot. I am in no way supporting Palin the politician as my views oppose hers but I don't think her mothering skills should come into play at all.

And lets just wait to the results of the investigation come out, McCain tried to get the result of the investigation pushed up until after the election, they were originally supposed to be made public days before the election, and will now be published three weeks before the election.

I would have been for McCain if he picked Liberman or a really good running mate with thoughtful arguments and ideas.

Sarah Palin doesn't impress me much, her acceptance speach was hollow and I'm still waiting for her to say something that isn't an insult or compliment, but to state something that is new about her ideas and what she supports and why.

All I know is she wants to drill the crap out of Alaska and make some money. Have we really heard her say exactly what else she believes in?

I can't wait for them to mentally beat her up at the debates, she sounds like an idiot to me.

Why can't McCain and Obama run on the same ticket?
I think they could be really good friends :D

Actually, McCain pissed me off with his speach. I saw him as the stubborn gung ho kind of guy that gets things done, but then he gave that horrible speach that felt like a lie. Lost my respect for him.
He should have backed his party and Bush's policies, becuse he in fact is going to do more of what Bush did. I want to hear that he's going to do it better and smarter, not that he's going to pretend to change for the sake of election.

Its insulting.

As for media, I love that they rip people apart. I love watching Fox news though, becuase they rip apart ALL LIBERALS the way the rest of the media is ripping up Sarah Palin, but with Fox is all bashing all the time, great entertainment!

I think Obama has great ideas, he's brilliant, but this Biden troll isn't my cup of tea.

I'm still on the fence.

McCain and I love his pick for VP after listening to her acceptance speech today.

Are you serious?

I don't get what was so good. All I heard was the same nonesense she keep repeating. Lipstick, Bridges to nowhere, Jets on ebay.

She sold the jet on ebay for 60,000 less than its worth.

She took the money for the 'bridge to nowhere' but rejected the proposal.

But her lipstick is nice. I do like her look for a person in office. Too bad it can't be all about that.

since this is my thread i just want to say a few things.

1st this thread wasnt made to be a 'barometer' i was just trying to see where the ladies of LIW stand.

in my OP i asked for a drama free thread and i am very appreciative to the ladies that did just that by either voting and not commenting or commenting with just their candidates name. i also mentioned in my OP that if you wanted to, state the reasons why you were voting for that candidate. that wasnt a call for people to bash the other candidate and make ridiculous remarks. you dont have to insult someones intelligence because they are not voting for your candidate. its really sad that some people cant just agree to disagree.

Well, stating that Obama 'has the last laugh' means you were measuring this post in some way, hence the term BAROMETER. It was obviously never meant to be serious.

As for drama, I only stated facts and FYI- not everyone has to agree. Just because you don't like my opinion doesn't mean you have to label anything drama. At this point, we should all agree to disagree!!!!!!!

I don't know who I'd vote for.

All the mudslinging kind of turns me off when it coms to politics.

I wish they would just keep it real and tell the people what they are truly about.

well obama is still in the lead in this thread so i think he has the last laugh. i think noone responded because i asked for a drama free thread. im not trying to have this one pulled.

Using a NY based website as the actual barometer of who is going to win the Presidency is actually the funniest part of all. NY is CLEARLY a Democratic State. Wait until the rest of the country has a say. Then we'll see who's laughing.

Yes, it's a democratic state, but that doesn't mean that here, the results would be the same as what the STATE would do. She's not using it as an 'actual barometer' of who is going to win, it's just a fun poll.

Obviously this isn't going to decide the actual presidency.... lol. But since this is a blue state, you can almost certainly assume that the vote would lean left. To me, the fact that McCain has almost half the votes here proves that Obama doesn't have a shot in hell. JMHO

WHAT are you telling me this LIW poll isn't going to decide the actual presidency. I already bet on this based on this poll

its a freaking LIW poll ITS NOT THAT SERIOUS LADIES

people just stating their opinions and jenn was just curious as to how other LIW ladies are voting thats all. Not that she felt her poll will determine the winner

nobody is wrong in who they vote for, that is why we freaking have the right to vote. Nobody can force their opinions on you. Everyone is different and looking for different things. So nobody can tell you that whomever you vote for is wrong, theres no such thing

And for the last time, NO ONE REALLY THOUGHT THIS WAS DECIDING THE ACTUAL PRESIDENCY! That was my point from the beginning.

And no one has said anyone is wrong for having an opinion either.

I'll be honest and say that I am not too thrilled with either candidate. Don't hate them but nobody i am excited about. With the mess our country is in, I was hoping for other candidates, not sure what either can do to fix everything. But regardless it would be hard for ANY president to take over now because of all the problems they are left with from the previous president.

I agree. They both are just making promises now, promises that I don't expect either to keep. I might just vote for Ron Paul

Yeah its hard to ever get excited about any promises that are being made now. Until I see it in effect then I'll believe it, of course now they say everything that sounds great so you can vote for them.

I think so .... maybe another republican, not sure, so my comment may be totally wrong. I voted for the independent a few times, might do it again.

i agree with you jen!! haha

we should just agree to disagree...no need to bash obama no need to bash mccain no need to bash bush!!

everyone votes for who they want to vote for and someone telling me something about mccain isn't going to change my opinion nor is it going to change my opinion if you tell me something about obama....we are all intelligent women on this site who obviously know the reasons we are voting the way we are. we don't need to prove anything to anyone or backup our reasonings for who we vote for with insulting remarks or anything.

i like mccain and palin thats who i am voting for but honestly someone saying he is a 'nut' because he was a pow or someone saying palin is an NRA hockey mom who doesnt care about her kids isn't going to change my vote...thats how people feel so be it!! i ahve my own views on obama and biden and i am not going to share them because frankly i am not trying to persuade anyone to change their vote...but i respect why others would vote for him!

but thanks for making this thread jen i think it is interesting to see the votes on this site!
