Raphael is really nice, but I haven't been there in over a year.

I was just out there this weekend. If you are looking to stay over the weekend the harbor view inn is really nice. I think its in Greenport. There are two main rds with tons of wineries on them. Just go up and down them.

I've been to Duck Walk and it was nice. I've heard a lot of good things about Pindar but haven't been.

My favorites are Pelligrini and Old Field.

My favorite topic! I love Raphael, Pindar, Paumanok, Lenz, Macari, and Bedell for their wines. Raphael is also a gorgeous winery (I am biased, though. ) The Old Field is also really pretty because they're on the beach, although I've never had their wines.

Pindar has an outdoor pergola, with tables and chairs.
It' covered. You can pack a picnic lunch, buy a bottle of wine, and eat there. They usually have live music, too.
It's nice, as a stop after the others in the area, to get some food in you!

Check out this website. It tells you about the wineries and any special events going on. Get a limo and just stop by each one. I did that with a bunch of girlfriends and it was a blast!

My DH and I went last year. We ended up just driving ont the 2 routes hopping from one winery to the next.

I love Pindar, Gallucio and Martha Clara. They both have grounds where you can have a picnic and hang out.

Enjoy!

My best friend had a smaller wedding and used Laurel Lake. It was wonderful.

We stayed at the Greenporter and did a wine tour. They picked us up at the hotel and drove us 4 wineries and taught us about wine. The hotel booked it for us, it was a woman who used to work at Pindar, she was great!!!

Really liked Martha Clara, Bendell, Route 48, & Pelligrini

Re: LI Wineries

We go often, but it depends really on what types of wines you enjoy. I stay away from Pindar because generally the vineyards with the 'free tastings' tend to be full of people trying to get drunk on a few drops of wine...and the place tends to look like a bar on the weekends. LOL.

We enjoy Castello Di Borghese, Raphael, Bedell Cellars (very nice, you can bring lunch and buy a bottle of their wine and eat it outside on their awesome new deck), Lieb, and The Old Field, which is a tiny little tasting room near the water. Hope this helps! We rented a limo last year with all our friends and went out there; it was great!

It's also a good idea to rent a limo. That way nobody has to worry about driving. Just a thought!

We did the wineries for my bachelorette party and stayed at a cute motel, Heron Harbour Suites in Southold. It was a 2 bedroom with a pull out couch in the living room and a nice kitchen area. It looked brand new, flat panel TV's on the walls. It was perfect for a bachelorette/girls get together.

The wineries we had the most fun at were:

Corey Creek
Bedell
Raphael
Pindar

I also really like Paumonok, but that's in Aquebogue, one of the first wineiers you hit on the way into Wine Country.

Have fun!

Jamesport is also pretty nice too. They usually have outdoor entertainment and have tables and chairs. I like their wine a lot. Pindar is good too, and Lieb is tasty too That's probably one mine and DH's favorite things to do !

I was just out there this past weekend - surprised FH for his birthday. We used Vintage Tours, it was $65 per person and she can pick you up at the train station or anywhere and drives you to about four wineries, provides lunch and is very knowledgeable about the area. Let me know if you want more info.

We went to Pelligrini, Bedell, Shins (my personal favorite!) and one other - I think it was called Ospray Dominion.

If you're going that way - I would also highly recommend going kayaking on shelter island - it was amazing!
