so i have heard that some 's here use LIW ladies as seat fillers if they need guests to meet a minimum. how does this work? can someone explain this to me. i have heard of thisbefore but, do they come as a guest, and leave a gift? or are they really only there to help you out, so they don't have to leave a gift?

Yeah, you go and definitely bring a gift ... and usually you're invited with your FH too
that way, the bride & groom don't lose money on the deal (or at least, not as much as they would have had they not met their minimum)

well, you shouldn't expect one from ANY guest ... but if a guest (non filler) came to your wedding without a gift, you'd be a bit upset ...

haha you're so right! I'd just feel bad i asked someone to come as a filler and then expected a gift I guess. its like extortion! lol...ok maybe not but still.

I was a filler in Melissa's wedding (MBScheer) ... she had a whole table of LIW girls though so i didn't feel weird ... it felt like a g2g
it was weird meeting her other guests though and having them ask 'so how do you know the bride & groom?'

I've gone to a couple of girls weddings, but they are all coming to mine...we had a deal where we wouldn't give each other gifts because it'd be trading money back and forth.
First LIW wedding I went to was a last minute thing (like 3 days before) and we brought a check. I didn't feel weird not knowing anyone but we're social people and FH will talk to anyone so that helps.

the LIW girls weddings I've gone to we had an agreement that we wouldnt exchange gifts.
