What EmberLynn was saying was that people in the beginning right after 9/11 were trying to profit from the attacks and that it disgusted her. Surely you guys remember how many people claimed they lost jobs or were affected just to get a free check? People who claimed they were collecting money for survivors and kept it for themselves? And people who were trying to sell off pieces as memorabilia? Or the complaints of all the vendors hanging out by ground zero who had pictures of people falling from the windows? Christine, I agree Bonnie could have worded it differently to get her point across. I also agree that the comment might have upset those affected (which in essence was all of us). I can see how someone would take offense. A simple 'it was a horrible tragedy, and even more horrible that some people chose to try to profit from it' might have been a better way to describe it. However, her comment was not made about anyone in general, more at the disgust of those who saw an opportunity instead of a tragedy and ran with it.
Does anyone get what I'm saying?
I'm not taking sides, because I can understand both sides of this argument.
I do understand what you are saying... but the original comment was made about shows being aired in the present tense, not when it first happened. I don't understand who is making money if they were just airing specials on tv this past week...
EVERY show you that is made is bring in millions of dollars replaying someone suffereing! I don't agree with making TV shows and movies about my friend or anyone else for pure profit. NEVER once did I see a movie that all profits went to the 9/11 fund! I see people make huge money off the movies, the t-shits, the flags, the stickers, etc... It makes e sick the we remember those lost by fatting the wallets of greedy.... I'm not explaining any more. I made my comment in agreement that those movies and the money was out of control and insane. I am NOT sorry FOR THAT!

FM would not have worked in this situation b/c it affected MANY people...we all responded in that post, perhaps you never went back to it, but once it was out in the open...we were waiting for your response and you took the low road. now the sorry seems inadequate at best.

Ignorance and stupidity are not the ones to be blamed here. They cannot apologize.
I apologize for my wording, but not what I ment! I would have apologized to you ALL so much sooner and made a thread too about it if someone had just FM'ed me!

most of the Tv specials were on The History Channel, Discovery channel etc- I doubt they make alot of money
it's not like a movie came out in the movie theather or they are selling action figures

DON'T = contraction of 'do not' - when using a contraction a single quote is used, not a double quote.

exactly...some people may be a little catty on this thread out of anger (VERY JUSTIFIED) but the point still remains...it could have been diffused MUCH faster with an apology.

Even after Christine FMed you and you read this post, you refused to apologize for your wording, when others informed you they were offended. When did I ever say you don't anything? I'm talking about TODAY and this instance.
