Local Tux recommendations

Local Tux recommendations

I'm looking for place to rent or buy my tux.

Nassua or Queens but Suffolk county is ok.

Any suggestions ?

What were you impressions about the staff and styles?

Is it standard to get your tux 2 days before? It sounds weird.

Thanks everyone,

Thomas

We went to Rogers Tuxedos in Smithtown, and the service was really good.

We looked at Commack Wedding center, and the Tuxedo places in Smith haven and Walt Whitman malls and we felt that Rogers seemed to be the most professional

I've heard bad things about Men's Warehouse, so you may want to stay away from them

DH got his from S&S Tuxedo in Hicksville. If I remember correctly the name of the guy who helped us was Henry. He was really patient and nice to work with! DH picked up his tux 2 days before the wedding also.

In Queens try Bell Formal. It's on Bell Blvd by Pizzeria Uno, Tiger Shulman (I think 38th Avenue?)

It's run by a husband and wife and we had no problems with them. They have a big selection and my DH was very happy with their service. They also worked well with us with my dad who was from out of town.

Thanks everyone. I'll let you know how it goes. There was a Ralph Lauren one I loved but would like to get it in black. We'll see

Re: Local Tux recommendations

I've heard that Town & Country in East Meadow, Nassau is very good.

However, due to the fact that two of our groomsmen were out of towners, we went with Men's Wearhouse since they have locations all over. We debated between them and After Hours but I had heard a lot of bad things about After hours so we went with Men's W.

We were actually VERY pleased with them. The price was reasonable ($89.99 for a 3 button, everything included), the tuxes looked AWESOME on all of the guys, and even with last minute alterations they were very flexible. My husband was in AC on his bachelor party until the day before the wedding so he literally had to run in there the night before the wedding at like 6pm and they had the alterations done an hour later for him to pick it up.

Also, since we had out of town groomsmen, we just had to give them the party # and they could go to any men's wearhouse and order the tux. They didn't need to know any of the info themselves, just the party #.

I know some peopel have said other things about Men's Wearhouse but we were pleased. Just my experience...

Good Luck,
Melissa

That's where we're getting ours. We've had excellent service so far. They also had a very nice selection.

We are using VIP. So far, no problems. The Tuxes were very reasonably priced.
