Looking for unique reception halls?

Looking for unique reception halls?

We looked at the North Ritz Club in Syosset and thought it was beautiful, but typical. It was also a little pricey. We loved the style of The Thatched Cottage CH room but, heard some negative things about it. We are looking for something different and unique. Any suggestions??

Chateau Briand was the most unique place we looked at. The decor is a very differnt style. Though I loved it... as soon as we walked in, we were like 'wow!'... it just wasn't best for what we were looking for.

PS: Bride and groom come up through the dance floor during intro's if you get the room where the floor opens up. Very unique.

Edited for spelling

Thanks . I'll have to check it out. Not really into coming through the dance floor but, it's a good thing to know (I know a lot of people like that).

FH and I had the same thoughts as you so we booked at the Old Field Club. It is a private club, not the typical reception hall and is right on a marsh. www.oldfieldclub.com.

I'm a Westchester Bride, but there was definitely some places up there to look, like our RH, Tappan Hill (which is a historic home) or Castle on the Hudson (which is a super expensive castle) or Lyndhurst (which is a castle and you would have everything outside), Tarrytown House (which has a couple different historical homes on their grounds you can use).

There are also a few other places in Westchester that are nice as well (lots of historical sites that you can use).

Also, I just went to Wave Hill (which is an estate with gardens) yesterday for work and it was GORGEOUS. It has a historical home on the grounds and then tons of gardens and lawns which would be great for an indoor or outdoor and pictures. It made me upset that I didn't think earlier to get married in the Spring and go there. Oh well!

Glen Island Harbour Club - the Terrace Room. It's a beautiful room with panaromic views of the LI Sound... See attached images! You really have to see it in person b/c the images don't do it justice. The food is also amazing here....

I think any of the mansions or country clubs are more unique than the 'glitzier' (for lack of a better term) catering halls. Just my opinion!
