Let Denise know next time you see her. She was very rude when she made the comment. Almost as if I had NO right to post anything that was not positive.

Re: Lori- How was your Aug 24th wedding?
Is denise still going to be your maitre'd michelle?when i booked she told me that she would be the maitre'd, but if they hired a new manager, does that mean that he will be the maitre'd for some of our weddings? I have enjoyed working with Denise thus far, although she was annoyed when i brought up the wall issue to her a few months ago, and suggested an alternative. And does anyone know what the Maitre'd is responsible for anyway?

The matrie 'd is responsible for making sure your entire wedding (at the reception) goes smoothly. They are in charge of the waiters, bar staff and making sure the bride and groom are happy.
I asked Denise when I went for my tasting if she was my maitre 'd and she said she was...
I don't think hiring a new manager will will change her being your maitre 'd. I think he's taking Tom's place...so either way, you probably will still have Denise!

Re: Lori- How was your Aug 24th wedding?
From what I know, the manager does not run any of the weddings. He runs the golf club and catering areas, staff, etc from as a manager.Denise is still the person in charge of catered events and running them.Although I heard they hired another person to help- since I am sure it is a lot for one person.
And here is what I do not understand- why is she annoyed at us because we are concerned about this wall? How does she not understand how we feel about it? Our opinions matter since we are paying for our events. Now I know she reads the boards but I will not alter the posts I make because of any vendor reading my posts. I am keeping it closed, period. the end. I heard from someone who attended a wedding there that they didn't understand why the wall was opened and it seems odd to them. I have heard that from 2 vendors as well. I think we should all make the decision that is best for our affairs, based on what we want, not anyone else.

I really hope that I am not going to offend anyone......Can I ask why you girls booked the Hamlet if you have all these complaints?? My first reaction when I walked in was that I couldn't believe how beautiful the place was. My wedding was 2 weeks ago, and I cannot say enough about the Hamlet and the Staff. As for the famous wall, I had it opened all night and it looked great. I am really bothered by the fact that everyone has put this place down simply because of a wall. They have made it the most memorable day of my life and I cannot thank them enough for that. It was truly a pleasure to deal with everyone there. I would definately book an occasion there again, and highly recommend it.

Re: Lori- How was your Aug 24th wedding?
I love the hamlet, I think that it a great place. When I booked it however, the wall was open. I loved the open-ness of the room and the fact that my guests would be able to spread out if they wanted to. I think that everything is decorated wonderfully and that everything is tasteful. When I went in to look again and i saw the wall closed, I felt that it cut off so much of the beauty of the room. Considering it is only for the cocktail hour though, it's not really a big deal to me. I was hoping they would wallpaper it, but I was not that concerned if they didn't. I always considered it, and still do, to be something that i would probably notice, but that not a single guest would notice. I can't really speak for everyone else, but I know that when you are putting so much time, effort and money into something, you want to try to make it as nice as possible. I have not regretted my decision to have my wedding at the Hamlet for a minute, because i think that it is as close to perfect as I am going to find, but if I can make a decision (i.e. to leave it opened or closed during any part of the night) that will make it look as beautiful as it can look, I just want to have the information to do that. Sorry to go on about this, I just felt i needed to explain my point of view. Plus, there are so few brides out there that have any experience with them (being that it is so new), it is nice to hear that your day turned out so beautifully Lori.Welcome New Vendors
