lost luggage, getting worried

Original post by Espo22

well one problem we had was coming back home, dh didnt get one of his luggages. Of course it was the one he would be most pissed about, the other one he wouldnt have been as upset. Ive called everyday and they STILL haven't located it, we got back monday night and they say it usually takes 24-48 hours to locate it but still no news. I even went back to the airport to look through their unclaimed luggages and nothing. I explained to the lady that with the fact that we had a flight from nice to madrid, then a connecting flight from madrid to NY, PLUS when we left madrid there were 2 flights leaving for NY with the same airline, infact we boarded at the same time as the other flight and they were one next to another so guess with all that somehow it got lost.

Its the one suitcase he had with all his suits, he brought alot on the HM, all his button down shirts, blazers, expensive shoes.

One time this happened to me and i received it after 4 days, but if i remember correctly they had located it before. MIL asked one guy we saw getting his luggage and asked how long it took and he said 5 days so im trying to stay hopeful

did anyone have an experience of a lost luggage and NEVER got it back, or if you got it back how long did it take. It S*CKS bc theres a possibility of 3 countries it can be in, what if somebody picked it up by accident or who knows.

WELCOME BACK!
suxxxxxxxxxssss but i would start making a list of what you had in the bag...i know my aunt lost all of her stuff and she had to claim everything to get a refund. Just in case...

P.S. on a connecting flight back to Tahiti..on my HM .I left an entire bag of shoes in the airport..lying there.....i had noooooooo shoes....I kept calling like a pscyho and they finally found the bag...so just follow up ALOT

yeah ive been calling every single day haha. Today i was looking through all our travel documents our insurance, i called travel guard today since it said they can assist with lost luggage and they were at least very helpful. The past 2 days ive called the airlines to update them with info about the luggage and they wouldnt put it into their computer system so i gave travel guard updated info about the luggage and they put it in the system. I think the handle broke bc it happened when they were handling it from barcelona to france, dh fixed it when we got to the hotel but im sure it easily broke again so it has no tags on it probably. But they said they will also call the airlines and stay in contact with them and try to see what info they can find, im sure they know other ways too of going about this so hopefully they find it soon. Thank you

denise
i am so sorry, that does suck but it did happen to me once

it took about a week
there is also a 'garage' on metropolitan across from CVS where they send the luggage to as a 'holding cell'

not sure if this is for all airlines, but this is what happened to us

we got it back but it took about 6 days

oh denise! i'm so sorry!

this actually happened to us in 2005 when we went to spain ... it was about a week before we got it back. it happened on our way THERE though, so steve had to borrow clothes from his cousin for a while...

we DID get it back though... which we were surprised and so happy about!

just to cheer you up a little... here's what steve looked like when his luggage came back..
