Totally. Me too.
Yes, i do have my ring insured and appraised of course, but it's sentimental and would really suck to lose it (even though we'd get thousands more than we actually paid for it thanks to the great appraiser).
My ring is white gold and i have to get it dipped every 6 months or so because it turns yellow when i leave it on while washing my hands and the dishes and such. That's why i never shower with it and why i've tried to take it off when i do wash my hands. But it's better than losing it i guess!
After today i'm sure i'll be a LOT more careful lol.

Lost/Misplaced Ring Crisis
You are not alone, my FH yells at me for doing the same exact thing. I have tried explaining I take it off at night at I am a wild sleeper and dont want to be hitting it on the wall, wash it down the drain from soap, or have it on while doing dishes. I too am trying to get better but find myself slipping atleast once a week.Ha ha, I dont have it on as I type...probably left it in my dresser.

Lost/Misplaced Ring Crisis
I almost never take my ring off. If I do, its to cook (like stretch pizza dough or form hamburgers) or to use gunky hair products or lotion. I sleep and shower with it.If I take it off, I try to make it for such a short time that I don't put it off to the side. For example, if I am applying lotion, Ill hold it with my lips--wont forget it there! If I am cooking, I make FH put it on his pinky finger. I forgot my ring once after doing my hair and I felt so naked during the day.

Lost/Misplaced Ring Crisis
I had a REALLY bad scare once about a month after he proposed. I don't wear it when I sleep and we were staying in Maine at his grandmothers, I guess I took it off and put it on my chest and fell asleep and in the morning I couldn't find it anywhere. I thought that maybe our dog ate it and I was starting to have a panic attack until I saw something sparkling under the futon - since then I keep it in the ring box! I basically only wear it when I get home from work or when we're going out since I can't wear it at my job without constantly having to take it on and off. I don't like to wear it to bed, when I shower, go to the gym, or wash my hands/do dishes.

Lost/Misplaced Ring Crisis
I keep mine on a ring holder when I'm not wearing it. I don't wear it in the shower, when I'm sleeping, cooking, etc. I do take it off at work if I put hand lotion on but I'm all by my lonesome in my office so I just lay it on the desk till my lotion dries. I originally took it off for hand washing but then I stopped and it looks super sparkly after I wash my hands!

Lost/Misplaced Ring Crisis
I NEVER take my ring off for this reason! I lose things really easily, it's a terrible thing. The only time I take it off is when I'm doing anything with water because it gets slippery and can slide off.
When I'm in the shower or washing my face I make sure I just place it far away from the sink, and put it on as soon as I dry my hands.
Losing my ring is my biggest fear! Even though there's insurance on it, I don't think it will be the same with a replacement ring!

Lost/Misplaced Ring Crisis
Omg I would die! That is exactly why I do not take off my ring when I am not home. It never comes off my finger when I am out of my house for fear of forgetting it. Lucky you that an honest person found your ring.

Lost/Misplaced Ring Crisis
I used to take it off to shower, put on lotion and when heading to bed before I got a ring guard.....now I keep in on because the ring guard is a pain and sometimes scratches my finger.

Re: Lost/Misplaced Ring Crisis
i don't take my ring off if i'm not at home. i wear it when i wash my hands, i've just heard horror stories of rings being lost i can't take that risk lol. at home if i take it off to put on lotion or to cook something messy i always put it right onto my ring holder in my bedroom. if i ever take it off that is where i always put it so i know it is always there!

Lost/Misplaced Ring Crisis
I only take my ring off outside of my home if I'm putting lotion on at my desk. Otherwise I leave it on.At home I usually take it off, but it goes on my Waterford crystal ring holder my mom bought me. FH and I refer to it as 'putting the ring to bed'. That way if it's not on my finger or on the ring holder we know we have a problem. I had a scare once when I slept over my parents house. I put it in my hoodie pocket while i washed up. The next morning i flipped out when I didn't see it on the nightstand with my other jewelry!

I only take mine off to shower or wash dishes. I sleep with it on. I have only forgotten it one day. I keep a ring holder in my bathroom & by my kitchen sink so at least its always i na safe place.

Lost/Misplaced Ring Crisis
alright so after fh and I got engaged, we had a bad fight, everyone knows the kind of fight I'm talking about, and my crazy lil a** decided in the heat of the moment and height of the argument to take it off and throw it in a nearby lawn. We spent ALL night on our hands and knees in wet grass looking for it. We finally found it the next morning after spending $200 on a metal detector. Needless to say he hung onto it for a few hours after finding it before giving it back....It goes without saying that I immediatly regretted doing it and how much I love fh for forgiving me!!Soooo yea since then IF it comes off it goes right back on!

Re: Lost/Misplaced Ring Crisis
This happened to me a lot when I first got engaged! I actually bought ring holders for my bedroom, living room, and kitchen. I bought a nice Lenox one for my night stand, then bought other cheap ones from Michael's for the other rooms. I never take it off when I'm out - not for hand washing, manicures, nothing! I'm too paranoid, lolWelcome New Vendors
