Re: MAGGIE SOTERRO BRIDES

idk if its true

but most likely, when you start alterations you will need a hem. tell the tailor to save the fabric for you.

thankfully guys wardrobe is easy and you can wait a bit for this

my dress is a corset and it came with two strings (one thin and one thick)...I took the one I wasn't using for swatches.

Re: MAGGIE SOTTERO BRIDES

I had such a fiasco with this too. I asked my bridal shop to call and get a swatch for me. They said I had to call Maggie Sottero directly. I called Maggie Sottero directly. They said my bridal shop had to call and order it. I called my bridal shop again, and they said they would call and then never did. FINALLY I got it from the dress where my girls ordered my BM dresses and they sent it ASAP. This was only about two weeks ago.

Re: MAGGIE SOTTERO BRIDES

I never even thought to get a swatch of my dress. My dress is hanging up in my room, so maybe that's why.....but I think you would be fine without it. I don't think there would be a huge selection of shirt colors for men's tuxes. And shoes, if they're not perfectly matched, won't really be seen either.

A tux shirt should not match the color of the gown; it should be white.

I dont always agree with this. Sometimes white next to diamond white or ivory makes it look very yellow.

If you wanna look WHITE, then pick a WHITE dress.

All the photographers in the biz that I know have told me that tux shirts should be white and that it won't make a difference at all. Besides, I can't recall the last time I saw a proper off-white tuxedo shirt.

If you have a champagne colored dress... then do a tux shirt to match the dress accordingly. I've seen it done and it looks just fine.
And they do have off-white and champagne tux shirts. It's been done on here plenty of times.

Thanks for your opinion but my dress is ordered and and I'm not having my FH wear a white shirt with my ivory dress. I can already tell you that's not going to look right. Unless of course my ivory dress isn't as ivory as I'm remembering then who knows. This is all the reason why I NEED A SWATCH

A champagne-colored shirt for a tux? Ick. I hate to tell you, but by definition a tux shirt cannot be anything but white. If you don't believe me, search for pictures of the british royal family wearing black tie and tell me if any of them are wearing a shirt that is not white. Or better yet, look up rules for black tie dress.

See, this is what I don't understand about this board. If you want a guy to wear a tuxedo, he needs to wear a proper white tuxedo shirt, bowtie and black low-cut vest or cummerbund.. End of story. Anything else, frankly, looks silly. It won't make your dress look bad. Rather, it WILL make your FH look sloppy.

If you don't like that look, then have your guy wear a charcoal or navy suit. Then he can wear whatever shirt you want him to wear. Simple.
