maid of honor/matron of honor question? Help please :)

Original post by beachbum05

can you be a bridesmaid if you are married....or does that automatically make you a matron of honor? Or is it just that a maid of honor who is married is automatically called a matron of honor?

(and if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it...... )

I believe it only applies to the maid of honor. The rest are still bridesmaids. At least that is what I'm calling them!

a maid of honr becomes a matron of honor if married...but a BM is a BM regardless

All 5 of my bridesmaids are married.

i don't think it matters. A married MOH is a Matron of Honor, an unmarried MOH is a Maid. But a bridesmaid is a bridesmaid regardless.

i have two married bridesmaids, two unmarried bridesmaids, and a maid of honor (unmarried).

edited for spelling

no a bridesmaid can be married and a matron of honor is married and a maid of honor isn't married.

no.... if you are marreid you dont automattically become a maid of honor.. Traditionally you Choose one maid of honor... and the rest are bridesmaids.. whether they are marreid or not.. You can though have another maid of honor that is married and becomes your matron of honor... I have two brides maids that are married so thats ok! hope that helps you!
