MAJOR Bride's Maid Dilema! HELP!

Original post by KellyS15

After I got engaged I asked a very good friend of mine of many years to be one of my bride's maids. She graciously accpeted. A few months later, she informed me that she was getting 2 dread locks in her hair. Never thinking she would ever do her whole head, I said 'If you ever do your whole head, I cannot have you in my wedding.' Well, here we are two months later and she is doing her whole head. She called me and told me that I have to make a decision because she is definitely doing it. I don't want to seem superficial, because her friendship means so much to me. She says she will not be hurt or offended, but I still dont want to make that decision. I just have this dream of what my wedding would be like and this just doesn't fit in. Am I being selfish?

YAY KELLY!

I am glad! I think you made a great decision that you will be really happy with in the long run... and likely in the short run too!

Keep your friend in your party, she is your friend and you do not want to ruin your friendship over hair

keep her...bottom line ... its only hair, frienship is much more important than that!

I totally agree! My younger sis had dreads for a while, they were cute and she also wore them pulled back, and it looked fine. anyway everyones going to be looking at you!!!

Its great that you will still have her in the bridal party, the friendship is the most important thing. BUT, it is your wedding and i think she could probably wait until after your wedding. The friendship goes both ways and if you feel that strongly, i am surprised she can't wait. If i was in your bridal party and wanted to drastically change my appearance i would just wait until after the wedding to do it....knowing you felt that strongly about it.

not a big deal, u cant ask someone to change themselves, i have a friend who has many tattoes and piercing and visible but she is a great person and a great person and for me to exclude her from my wedding party i would be judgemental and shallow cuz i give 'looks' so much priority....if it bothers u, just let the photographers know that she shouldnt be in so many pics...
