MAJOR placecard problem!

We had bought these awesome mini champagne bottle candles for our place cards. We printed sticker labels to go on them, however, they already have a label on them. I had bought a sample a few months ago and the label peeled right off, so it would be easy to change the label. Well we went to do them the other day and the labels would not come off!!! Its like they used super glue or something!!! Now we might have to scrap the whole idea! Is there any thing that you guys can think of that we can use the labels on? Any other kind if mini bottle??? Help!!! 7 days to go...

Re: MAJOR placecard problem!

THe problem is the candle has a glossy finish. I tried goo gone and the entire finish cracked.

Re: MAJOR placecard problem!

This is just a thought.... what about coving the label with some thing like a ribbon then putting your sticker over ther seam of the ribbon?

Re: MAJOR placecard problem!

You can try soaking the candles in warm water...hopefully that will make the labels come right off. Try it on one first to make sure it doesn't affect the candle in anyway and that it works!

How long did you soak for? Sounds like maybe if you let it soak just a little longer the rest would come off too... or maybe hotter water? If it didn't hurt the candle, maybe if you even left it soaking overnight it might work....

Re: MAJOR placecard problem!

Try hot water to get rid of the label & Skin So Soft from Avon to get rid of glue - you might need to wash with a little soap and water afterwards and let dry but it might work. SSS desolves the gluey stuff from stickers.
