Making the switch..

Are you ladies taking FH's last name? Keeping yours? Hyphenating?

It was never a question for me. I'm excited to take his name! I know people have different opinions about this. Curious what you ladies are doing.

I CANNOT wait to take his name!! Whats also really cool is that I won't have to change my initials LOL. I joke around with him that that's the only reason why I'm marrying him. I won't have to change my email addresses or anything!

I'm taking his name but also seeing if I can drop my middle name and make my last name my middle name. I wanted to hyphenate but FH won't let me, lol.

Taking his name! If I hyphenate, my last name would be 16 letters, 7 syllables and have an apostrophe AND a hyphen! Plus the last letter and first letter of my and his name are the same so it would flow badly.

It's going to be weird not to have my last name anymore because it's so unique (I'm pretty sure my family is the only 4 people in the world with it), but it's going to be so nice to shorten it!

I love my last name, but I'm going to take his. It will definitely be easier as a teacher for the children to say his name! However, I don't expect the ones that already know me to call me by a different name.

I'm definitely taking his name, we're traditionalist and changing my name is one of those things I can't wait for. Also, his last name is so much easier than mine haha so no one could mess it up.

I'm still not sure what I want to do. FH's legal last name is hyphenated, because his mom hyphenated when she got married and gave that name to her kids. He is planning to drop the first part of his last name when we get married. I may keep my name legally but use his socially. He told me I can do whatever I want.

I'm definitely taking his name. The weird thing is, there's only 5 letters different in our names. Mine is 'Fingerman', which, as you can imagine, I was tortured for as a child. His is Friedman, so it would be weird to hyphenate and I want to have the same last name as my children.

I will be hyphenating my last name. I am going to use my last name professionally (do not want to change my teaching licenses and my masters degree has my last name!) however, I will using his last name in all other instances!

I totally plan on taking his name, it's something I'm really excited about! The bonus is that it's shorter and easier to say/spell.

I will be taking his name. I have always been excited to do that, but he is very surprised because his last name is Cox, and knowing that I want to work in a school he fears for me lol. Oh well, we just have to be careful when naming our children. I dont think Harry will work.
