I'm taking his last name. I won't have three first names anymore when I do. In my heart I will always be with my maiden name.

I want to have the same last name as our kids but I am definitely doing it kicking and screaming. I don't know, I just find the whole thing a little chauvinistic, and I hate the idea of changing my identity. Plus, I REALLY don't want to do all the paperwork, it seems like an insane headache lol.

You're not alone girls! I really like my last name and am very attached to it. I'm considering hyphenating. My FH doesn't mind what I choose either way though

I'm in the same boat for a different reason. I want to keep my last name because my dad passed away when I was 8 and I want to keep his last name. While Fh understands he really wants me to take his name so I will. Just not happy about it.

I Feel the same exact way, my dad died 5 years ago when I was 17 and I feel like that is one of my last links to him and I will not let go of my last name. It has caused major arguments and I know FH family is not happy with it. I will hyphen it but absolutely refuse to drop my last name. I love my FH but its just not happening.

Plus on top of the first reason my last name is a simple pretty Italian name, Sabella and his is Angerhauser... every time I tell someone they say WHAT?! If it weren't for having kids and wanting to share a last name in some way I would't take it at all to be honest lol I just despise it. I'm a little mean but I can't help it

Making the switch..

I will be keeping my last name. I am my father's only child and our children even have my last name because i feel strongly about keeping my name going. Plus i dont want to deal with the hassle of changing it.

I promised hubby I would get his named tattooed to make up for it.
