My cousin got married this past Saturday. During the reception, one of her guy friends gets the microphone from the DJ and proposes to his girlfriends right there on the dance floor.
I don't think I'd be too thrilled if someone did that at my wedding, but I wouldn't let it ruin my day either. I don't know how I'd feel if my FH proposed like that.

i wouldn't be happy if FH proposed to me that way- i'd be like all considerate about the bride and be like ***- u takin the spotlight off of the newlywed couple ...

If someone did that at my wedd, I would say pl take this outside , its cute but not an appropriate thing to do at someones wedding, then all attention off the bride, lol, but Im guesing he did it in front of all his fam and friends to see

i'd think there is a chance that the guy asked the bride or groom if it'd be okay....maybe he did and they said sure!
I personally wouldn't mind that at all (someone proposing at my wedding) - i think it's nice...but that's just me!

I would get mad. I don't think its selfish on my part but that's like our little moment in the spotlight and everyone's there to celebrate OUR marriage... what if she had said no? that would be embarassing, eh?

Amen. I agree. I have 4 hours to party, I'm not sharing that with anyone else. Unless it was a birthday of a family member or a close friend, I'd definitely make an announcement... but no thanks for the marriage proposals...
oh, AND, if FH did that at someone elses wedding, i'd be so embarassed!!!!

I was at the table with my mom, and at the same time we blurted out (quietly) 'tacky'. It was definitely an awkward moment during the reception. My cousin seemed ok with it, but she's beyond laid back.

The bride and groom definitely did not know. I think they were a bit in shock at first, but then went and congratulated them.
