married ladies - did you have any 'no shows' at your wedding?

Did any of you have people RSVP yes and then not show up -- or fewer showed up than responded?

Just curious how prevalent this is. I know this happened to one of my brother's, but I don't think it happened to the other...

I have to admit, we got lost and couldn't find the Swan Club either when we went to look at it.

I had one, but she had warned me that her daughter was having surgery two days before and wasn't sure if she was going to make it.

I had a no show. my douchebag cousin and her husband...whom i did NOT want to invite--and my parents said i HAD to. then they didn't RSVP--and they were chased down by phone, and held up my place cards and seating chart until the last minute--then insisted 'of course we'll be there!'

yeah--scumbags didn't show and didn't call. kick in the asss? my parents refused to call them afterwards and said 'oh well'. i didn't bother cause i barely know them. $$$$ that went wasted

(can you tell i'm a lil bitter?)

I had 2 guests not show, they were actually the dates of 2 of our guests.

I had 10 no shows. One couple I found about during the reception. The other 8 never called to say what happened. I have never spoken to any of these people again.

Not married yet, but my friend had 20 (yes, TWENTY) no shows.

Not 'no' rsvps... these were people she invited, who RSVP'd yes, and then didn't show up.

She invited over 150.
130 RSVP'd yes
110 showed up on the big day.

This freaks me out - they lost a lot of money!!!

7 no shows

-4 were sick, and 3 got stuck in Florida and couldn't fly to NY due to Hurricane.

OMG! That totally freaks me out! That is so rude!

I am scared that some of my family will do this because they did it to my cousin when she got married.

I don't think so. I believe everyone showed up.

I had 10 no shows.....6 notified before the wedding, but I had already paid for the whole thing. The day of I had a family of 4 not show up. The kicker was only the 2 adults were invited and they responded with the family which we then said fine......and agreed it was OK if that was the only way they could make it.

Never heard from them either......

we had even worse than a no show... DHs aunt, uncle, and their two kids ( so 4 people) drove ALLL the way from western PA, came to the ceremony, but then didn't come to the reception DH and i were at our sweetheart table looking around during dinner and i was like ' wheres you aunt and uncle?!' becasue we had seen them at the ceremony. so DH went over to ask his mom... apparently, they had gotten lost driving down the night before and were driving around most of the night, so his uncle was ' tired' and they headed home after the ceremony!
you drive 5 hours and don't stay for the food?!?! guess things are soo cheap out there that just dno't realize how much money they cost us for their plates!! AND, they didn't even give us a huge gift, either!!
