Met: Long story - went to pre-k, k, 1st and 2nd grade together then didn't know eachother until 2 years ago. We bumped into eachother on the subway on our way to work and have been together ever since (he recognized me from 2nd grade

Proposal: Night in Manghattan - Dinner/Theater/a room at the Marriot Marquis in Times Square and the biggest surprise of my life!

Another lurker/newbie here...

Me: PhD student in counseling psychology
Him: Event Planner/Marketing for a non-profit...but wants to get out of non-profit desparately so if anyone one knows of anything in the corporate world (aka PROFIT), let me know!
Met: In junior high. We actually dated in 7th and 8th grades, but then got back together in 11th. Went through college long distance, but broke up after we graduated. A year later fate brought us back together when he moved to Hoboken where I lived and into the apartment building (same floor!) I was moving into that same month. It was all completely by chance!
Proposal: 2/12/04 In our apartment, wearing my pjs. Long story but he wanted to do it the night after but realized it was friday the 13th (he had a couple of 'signs' previous so he didn't want to take a chance) so he quicikly moved it up a day. Proposed with a cake that said 'will you marry me?' Then we celebrated the next night at Philip Marie where he initially intended to pop the question.
Ring: Beautiful. Princess cut solitaire in a tulip setting.
Wedding: July 15, 2005 Carlyle on the Green

Honeymoon: Hawaii-Maui and Kauai

Met: After a ending a pretty bad relationship I joined Match.com to sort of get back a bit of self esteem I had lost...My second date was my perfect match!
Ring: Platinum solitaire diamond with micropave diamonds on the band by Ritani.
Proposal: With the help of a very crafty friend he got me back to the scene of out first meet/date and after the friend 'went to go get his wife' and never came back he got down on one knee and proposed. After champagne we went for dinner where both of our parents were waiting. The next day we went to the Four Seasons and a show. Then down the Shore for the weekend. It was such a special day!
Ceremony and Reception at Land's End.
Honeymoon:still up in the air. Either Seychelles with an African safari for 2 days or Fiji.

Met: He was the first person I met when I started working here. He held the door for me and let me in the building. We were friends for almost three years before we started dating.
Ring: The diamond is over 80 years old and it was his grandmothers. His mother had it reset in an evening star setting about 45 years ago. The most unique beautiful ring I have ever seen.
Proposal: He had planned to do it on three separate occasions and it got botched by something each time. Long story but he wound up asking me in the middle of the Times Square Subway station and took out the ring and got on one knee later that night in a little better location.
Wedding: Sept 2005
Honeymoon: Going on a two week cruise around the Mediterranean two months before the wedding with his whole family for his parents 50th wedding anniversary; so, we will do something small right after the wedding and in 6 months or so to take another nice trip just the two of us.
Dress: No idea and I have tried on soooo many. I want simple A-Line with a detachable train…

Proposal: Long story short(er)..FH, his bro and me were walking through Central Park with a camera, trying to get some good scenic pics for us to put in our apt. Well when his bro goes to take a pic of FH and I, I turn to FH and he is on 1 knee. His bro continued to take pics of the entire proposal...so now I can relive it all the time!!!
