Mental Break Down update

Thank you so much everyone.. You really helped a lot.. I think I freaked out because we're sitting here, hoping that we have enough in savings to hlep pay bills etc. and I kept thinking about this weddding, and how much it will cost..

but you all helped so much.. We can cut out.. We don't HAVE to go on the honeymoon right away, I don't mind, and neither does FI.. also, the rehearsal dinner we can do with out.. that is $3800 right there.. I just hope we can cancel our honeymoon.

WE need to discuss this with our mothers, because I know if we tell them what is going on they'll help.. OUr mothers REALLY want this wedding as much as we do. and they have helped a lot..

I realy do feel better.. Thanks girls, and I'll keep you updated..

I should of said, but we just can't afford it.. My FI got demoted at his job, and lost like $30,000 a year pay cut.. I'm in school, and I have to take a month of work to do a non paying externship, 40 hours a week. We are up to our necks in credit card debt... It's just overwheliming, and it doesn't seem sensible to spend $30,000 on a wedding, when truly we can't afford it anymore.. Maybe in the future, but it's a strain on FI and I, and we can't do it.. I'm very upset about it.. but It's too much



ETA: I've tried to cut un-necessary things out of our budget, and we still owe $11,000...

Do whats best for you guys...do something on a smaller scale and more intimate if thats what suits you...all that matters is that you guys are happy....to hell with everything else!!

I'm so sorry that you can't afford it right now. Have you guys thought about maybe doing a destination wedding with just your parents and closest friends? It may not be exactly what you had in mind, but it would definitley be very special and memorable. Our friend got married in Jamaica last year and it was awesome.

I wouldn't mind doing that, but we have the hall now, and with 4 months left, I don't think we'll get any money back... We were so close, and now this happened, and I'm really depressed.. I guess it's good because we have eachother

Just be happy your FH still has a job tho...my FH was laid off in the end of May and did not land a job until the end of August....

Then when he started his new job, he got to take off, but was unpaid vacation time...

Awww ...Im so sorry....If it helps, Im right there with ya...we are the same weekend, and we owe $12,000 still and we are basically praying for a miracle. It makes you sad, believe me I understand!
Does the East wind maybe have a smaller room where you could have say half the people? What if you cut out Limos? Its only transportation, who cares how you get there once your there? Did you pay the DJ yet? You could probably get someone with less Wedding experience for less then $500 .

Its hard because you dont want to settle, but Im afraid of all the money you will lose now...Did you talk to any of your vendors yet about it?

Crystal I am so sorry to hear this. I know it is hard but all that matters sweetie is that you found the man for you, big wedding or justice of the peace as long as you have each other. There is nothing to say that you can't have a big shin ding for your 5th wedding anniversary or even your first. Hang in there!!!!!!

I haven't talked to ANYONE YET... FI knows, but he doesn't want to cancel the wedding.. BUT WE HAVE NO CHOICE.. We've already paid $10,000 into the hall, we don't have any limos.. here is what we have left to pay...

Officiant-$400

Honeymoon-$2539.

Flowers--$1100

DJ-$1250

Rings-$1300 (already paid half)

Dress-$950 ( already paid half)

Gift for attendants-$500 ( and that's a crappy gift)
