microdermabrasion

i'm going for the first time to have this done on friday. i've never had acne all my life (except in 8th grade i had a really bad time with pimples on the forehead), but suddenly i'm getting a TON of pimples on the right cheek in the last nine months. i have no idea what to do or what is causing it, but they won't go away. i have a dermatologist appt friday morning and a micro derm facial at red door in woodbury on friday afternoon.

any advice? i'm kinda nervous...and excited

OMG ME TOO!!!!! All of a sudden I have pimps on my left check. It comes and goes. I use listerine on them at night but I havent been taking care of my face. I NEED to have a facial for my acne too. I will send you something from the Cosmotology Center of NY, they are part of spa week

i wouldn't go tanning after this procedure.

my friend had it done then tanned and she had some sort of discoloration (a bit tanner) then the rest of her skin...so avoid fake bakin for 7days...

most estheticians would tell you this..but hers didnt - better safe then sorry. everytime i see her i can still see the shadowing lol

same with me, i never had pimples as a teenager or in my early 20's, then all of a sudden i would get occasional breakouts and now its more often...the dermatologist put me on duac which works well, although i have a bad habit of falling asleep and forgetting to put it on...I am also going on wednesday to get a facial, im gonna let her tell me the best thing to do but most likely i'll get micro dermabrasion

Can we say STRESS ladies???? Skin is sooo sensitive to stress. I have psoriasis and it gets soooo much worse when I am worried about something. So far, it's been ok - well, my scalp is not doing well - I am considering going on a biologic medicine (an injectable medicine) but have to save some $$$ first as the copays are $40 a week ... for 12 weeks ...

Good luck Jess! Tell us how it turns out!

Yesterday my sister told me she would wash my face and put this astringent for me for this whole week. She took a before pic of me and she said next sun my face will improve, I hope so , her face is sooo clear bec she does this everyday

also...my friend who recommended the microderm (and has GORGEOUS skin btw) said that she started going for this same problem - random cheek acne. it turned out that they told her she wasn't changing her sheets and towels frequently enough and this was causing bacterial problems on her skin - especially on the cheek she usually sleeps on. she started changing her face towel once every 3 days, changing her pillowcases once ever 5 or 6 days, and she got the microderm 3 times. her skin is awesome - it is what i wish my skin looked like! maybe we should all try this out, lol.

Re: microdermabrasion

i use this soap from greece it's for the skin and i've never ever had a pimple or breakout

it's called EUBOS (evos) so if u have anyone coming in from the mother country INVEST lol it's so worth it.

it's the blue bottle. the red bottle is for major acne/blemishes

i brought it back from my GF and she can't thank me enough

:)

it depends, for some people it is stress related but for others it isn't...theres a couple of factors that can contribute to this
