Hi, Was just wondering which hotels/motels you were booking rooms at for your out-of-town guests? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Helen

The Holiday Inn in plainview is what we used-- i took my pics there beforehand and they came out great-- as for rooms if you plan on staying there ask for the regular rooms right next to the suites(306 is where i stayed I think)-- they are the same price as regular room but are HUGE--without haveing to pay the $250 or higher as for Laurie she was great Laura

Try the East Norwich Inn, which I was able to book for $103 a night. It's incredibly charming, and has the feel of a ski lodge. Beautiful, classy rooms. All of my guests loved it there. Good luck.

The sooner the better-- call the hotel and see what their policy is-- I have heard soo many stories where brides wait--the other thing you have to think about is how many rooms you think you need and the ones you know you need-- some places will only let you block a certain amount and it is better to know that ahead of time so that people can reserve on their own-- Laura

Milleridge Brides Question...
I'm only 2 months away from my wedding and I was wondering when everyone ordered their cake from the baker and met with the banquet managers to do a tasting and choose their menu? Will they call me to arrange an appt. or should I be doing this now? THANK YOU :)

Milleridge Brides Question...
Definitely call them yourself, we did our tasting and menu choice about 1 month before, if I remember correctly.

Milleridge Brides Question...
same as us-- as for the baker--dont expect much-- they show you a book completely not even worth looking at-- if you have a specific cake in mind the best way to deal with it is to bring a picture and have your milleridge person deal with the bakery--this is what we did (basket weave, 3 layers stacked) and it came out beautiful.. good luck Laura wish I could go to another wedding there!!!

Yet another Milleridge Brides Question...
What is the difference between the cottage and the carriage house? I know the carriage house is smaller, but what is your opinion of it?

Yet another Milleridge Brides Question...
I thought the carriage house was beautiful as well; just no way we could fit our party in there!! From what I saw, it looks very nice inside.

Cottage vs Carriage
I have heard that the carriage house is nice as well-- you obviously dont get the atrium and the same grounds-- there is a bride on here ( i think she is stil on the newleywed board ) who had her wedding in the carriage house--so maybe post it on there as well Laura

Cottage vs Carriage
Well I went to see the carriage house yesterday. Wasn't happy with it. They wanted us to have the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in the same room. We didn't like that at all. Although the room itself was very nice - that's not what we pictured...We did go to see the GW Manor though, and really like that (same owners).
