I just spent all day shopping with my mother for her dress. It's really much harder than I thought it would be. She wants a dress that is younger looking than the traditional MOB dresses without it being too young for her. We've been going to Bridal Stores that don't have that much of a selection. Does anyone have suggestions on other stores we can try?

Re: Mom's Dress
My mom had the same problem-- she wanted something more younger-looking than most traditional mother-of-the-bride dresses. I suggest you don't limit your mom to mother-of-the-bride dresses... my mom bought a bridesmaid dress that isn't young looking. We went to Lilette's in Baldwin, the same place I bought my dress.
This is my mom's dress (the color is either Euro Sage or Euro Celedon, I forget which one):
Bridal Reflections in Massapequa has a whole store dedicated to MOB and MOG dresses.

Re: Mom's Dress
Try Lord and Taylor... they always have a niec selection of formal dresses. They also frequently have sales and coupons that come in the mail or the newspaper that might help you save on one if you find something you like.

Maybe try Distinct Dresses in Selden by TJ Max. Paradise Bridal in Patchogue has a huge selection of MOB dresses, and if you see something online you like, they can order for you. HTH!

My mom got her dresses for my wedding and my sister's at Eva's in Sayville. AMAZING dresses!
Top picture is my wedding, bottom is my sister's. She's the one in the middle in lavender.
my mother is the same way, and just recently we went to this really great shop called Metamorphosis, on 25A in St James. Everyone is SOOOO nice and the gowns are so beauitful! My mom is between three dresses right now lol :) Good Luck..

Re: Mom's Dress
Definitely try Lord and Taylor. My mom got her dress there and it was beautiful. My mom was the same way, she didn't want the traditional MOB dress. Lord & Taylor has a great selection of classy, beautiful dresses.

Re: Mom's Dress
My mom was the same way, didn't like most MOB dresses, but didn't want to go sleeveless, etc. She got a great dress at Macy's, on sale! (Ironically, my MIL, unknown to either of the
m, got the same dress at Sears. And I mean the same exact dress! Everyone thought they did it on purpose)

My mom had the same problem, we went all over the place she actually found one at macys and then one at adriennes in the Bridesmaid section. She is going to make the shall it comes with into a shrug

Re: Mom's Dress
Same problem here, both my mom and stepmom got their dress from Blanchee Bridal Boutique in East Rockaway
but my step mom usually gets her dresses from Totally YOu in bellmore.
blanchees had a better selection in 05 and prices thats why my stepmom went with them.
